Hi folks,

Any reason why OCUK can't be made compatible to work with the Tapatalk API? I much prefer the interface on Tapatalk and it would allow me to have all my frequently visited forums in one place. The mobile interface on mobile is a bit clunky imo and desktop is worse.

It doesn't need Tapatalk. Since the redesign and new software its actually one of the best mobile versions of any site I visit.

Pro Tip: If you don't like the mobile version turn you phone 90 degrees.

Burn the witch! :p

Ocuk is change resistant and that's the way we like it
Lol

Glad to see OCUK is with the times.
Yes, it maybe OK for some but that's subjective isn't it? Having all forums in one place on one app is very handy and the less cluttered UI is better imo.

Personally hate Tapatalk. Reddit is also awful imo. There's something clean about ocuk forums. I have no problems with the mobile version of the forums

Have your tried Reddit Enhancement Suite, makes things much better and you can switch off subreddit styling?

For Reddit, Sync Pro or GTFO. :p
I use Boost for Android which is decent, been on it for a few years. RES is used on Chrome.

Going back to the Tapatalk issue and people's thoughts in this thread, why not keep what we have here but give people the option to use Tapatalk or whatever forum app people like? Just allow API's to read the forum database. Nothing changes for people that like the old original UI, just give others the option to use more modern interfaces. I get push notifications in Tapatalk which the website can't do, I can setup favourite threads to watch. Allows more engagement with the forum.

Yes I know what RES is, I've used it for years! God bless never ending Reddit. You were asking about mobile OcUK, not the desktop variant. Reddit is God awful on mobile, and so is the official app. Sync and Boost are the only options, but I do favour Sync.

As for Tapatalk, it was discussed back when the redesign happened a year or two ago.
