Hey all!
I bought one of the bundles here a few months ago.

I only game so it never really bothered me that much when i thought that it may have lost it's BIOS settings.
however i am going to start video encoding so want the extra performance if i can get it!
In the BIOS most things are set to auto, from OC'ing years ago i know it should be set to manual and configured from there, i have also read that turbo may need to be switched off when overclocking. (there is an ocuk profile in the bios, which i think is loaded! dont know how to be sure (it's number 1 on the list!))
So, when i fire up CPU-Z i see the following:
When Idle -
Core speed - 1200
multiplier - 9
bus speed - 133
qpi link - 2407.5
When running benchmarks it goes to:
Core speed - 2900-3200
Multiplier - 22-24
Bus speed 133
QPI link - 2394.5
So is that turbo giving me the nearly 3200 speed?
How does turbo work exactly because if it can give me the boost to 3200 when needed i'll probably be happy enough and not bothering to overclock as my system is idle a lot of the time and wouldn't want it overclocked and wasting electric / processor lifespan.
Temps are currently 18 degrees idle and 45 degress when loaded so plenty to play with methinks.
