Congratulations GSXRMovistar!
Please forward the new theme to me by email. (hotmail address in trust)

Not a particularly inspiring image I'm afraid. A bit dark and lacking in contrast.

If you are going to go there, then get down and dirty. This is pretty tame overall and leaves us with powder on paper, white on white on a kitchen top. Get motivated beyond the obvious pun, take it outside in an alley perhaps.

It fits the theme but it is just a little boring, if you are going to use props then I feel you should go all out, piles of wraps on a table with lines and rolled up fives something that could really play with the composition and DOF.

chet84
A typical light trails shot, but well executed. The single bush that catches the headlights is quite distracting for me - I'd consider cloning that out.

A great image with a solid technique behind it. A bit of selective dodge and burn would give it a bit more pop but that's being picky. Good job.

I did expect more of these, a good choice for the theme and well composed and captured.

cokecan72
Fun image. Appreciate the effort that’s gone into it.

A good shot which says speed to me. Looks well planned and is clean and crisp.

I think that this really depicts the theme, the composition really helps to accentuate the concept of speed by not seeing the whole vehicle you can perceive the motion better.

englishpremier
Can't say the shot des much for me - central position of the car, not particularly sharp (image not really large enough to tell!), and just feels a bit washed-out.

There is movement in your image but overall it's washed out and lacks punch. It's a good start but you need to be much closer and position the car to the left of centre to give it space to travel into.

The distance from the vehicle and the central composition make it hard to portray speed or motion.

GSXRMovistar
The only thing in this shot I don’t like is the yellow post at the left. Great stuff.

A top shot and really nails the theme this month. My only niggle, I'd crop out that yellow central column to increase the feeling of movement.

Why would you need sunglasses on in a car park, the only real comment is the yellow comment detracts from the overall image.

Guitarman0
Not an image I was anticipating for this one. Background is very bright, but I like it.

An interesting take on the panning shots we've seen this month with the high contrast processing style. It's a pity the centre point focus has missed keeping the head sharp, but otherwise nicely done.

Personally I would have composed the dog more to the left, but the biggest issue is the focal point being in the centre meaning the head and face is not sharp enough.

howler
It's an OK shot. Quite like the processing, but others might not. Not particularly adventurous, though.

On theme and I can see it's quite your interest but I'm not sure about the vintage processing style here. It doesn't add to the shot or tell a story so feels unnecessary.

Fits the theme and is reasonably composed just a little bit boring as an image.

Lunawolfy
Sorry this doesn't really cut it for me - feels like a bit of a points scraper. What am I taking away from this image?

Can't say that it really works for me. It's a static image with some condensation i'm afraid. You need to plan and get creative.

I can imagine it being used as part of a composition for some Olympic advertisement but it doesn’t say speed and for this competition it struggles.

Red.5ive.Oh
That's fun! Hope you didn’t break too many cameras in the process. Nice angle and motion.

Really like the camera angle you have used and it's gritty which adds to the images feel. Good stuff.

Fun image nice processing and fits the theme nicely done, I like the angle to works well for the image.

Wedge
It's OK, but it doesn’t wow me. Not really sure following a lorry classes as speed, either :p A touch more light in the interior might help bring the shot alive a bit?

A good idea for this month but that truck dominates the image. Far better to have a clear road I would have thought.

Another that I expected more of, unfortunately it is not quit working here the lorry really kills any concept of speed an open country road would have probably been better.

Well thats a pleasant surprise as some good entries in this round, thanks for your time and comments judges.

yellow central column
I removed it in one edit but then the car didn't look right cornering around nothing so opted to leave it in. Maybe I should have desaturated it more to make it less noticeable.
Why would you need sunglasses on in a car park
Because it makes me look uber cool? :p :D Or more the fact that the less of my face you can see the better!

I tried to take a shot of me whilst riding my motorcycle.

Absolutely no chance. The camera vibrated up and down something terribly.

As a last resort I took a shot of a random car. lol

Was your engine running on the bike and was you moving at speed? If so like you say no chance of a sharp pic.

My car one above must have been taken at just 1mph after a gentle nudge to get it moving.

Same with mine, my friend just "clutching" it a few MPH tops while I sat in the boot with my tripod/camera

Yep. I wanted the one side of my body in clear focus, then the road/scenery ahead and too the side with motion blur.

I should have known better.

After a while I gave up, and just took a shot of a passing vehicle instead.

Poor planning, poor technique, and lack of experience, means that I suck at getting any of the shots that I see in my head for these competitions.

Congratulation GSXRMovistar, and thanks to the judges. I like your choice of theme this month - got a few ideas already!
