This is really far too overcooked for my liking, I'm afraid. The whole image also feels tilted to the left.

As a panorama it has merit regardless of the HDR, but it lacks a lot of interest in the water which is the theme choice.

This is a little heavy on the HDR and the horizon is leaning to the left.

chet84
That's a really nice image and you must have had fun making it, which makes it all the better. Great lighting.

Knock out image with lots of action, colour and impact. Excellent stuff.

A super shot for the theme that has been well composed and captured.

Clown
Lovely clean image. Very serine.

A nice enough scene but there is not a huge relevance to the theme here.

A slightly weaker connection to the theme but a beautiful picture.

cokecan72
Haven't we seen these before from you, or am I imagining it? OK macro, though I don't think it really shows that much artistic or technical merit.

I can see you went to some effort setting this up but I'm not sure how the space invaders fit the theme, aside from the obvious.

This really needs to be shot from the above on a plain background to get the full space invader effect.

Devrij
It's an alright shot, but the lighting could be more interesting and I'd probably choose to crop some of the dead space from the top.

Lots of potential here but your lack of post production work let it down. Contrast, brightness & WB tweaks would all help give it punch.

A great idea for the them that could do with some PP to help bring it out, some light processing and a tighter crop is all that is needed.

It's an uninspiring shot, I'm afraid, and feels like a bit of a point-scraper. Would you want it on your wall?

It looks like this theme didn't get those creative juices flowing so we have a very basic image which lacks inspiration.

A bit of a weak shot this one on both theme and technique.

Feriso
Quite an interesting shot, though I'm in two minds about the backdrop. Overall, I think it works, as I like the funky patterns in the water drops.

Hard to say which way those drops are moving which is weird. Some tweaks in post needed.

The background is dominating here and makes it difficult to really pick out the liquid part.

GSXRMovistar
Fun image. Love the colour against the stark background and the sharpness and contrast in the water.

A classy image, on theme and done well. I'd have liked to see less liquid on the stem of the glass though.

Great shot and works well for the theme my only comment is the water running down the stem is distracting from the overall cleanness of the shot.

Ishamy
The focus of this image is a bit lost on me. It's certainly through water, but I'm not sure it really hits the nail on the head in terms of theme. What were you wanting us to take away from it?

An interesting image and theme choice. I think that by using a polariser, it would have cut through the reflections and added much needed contrast to the image.

The liquid element is almost hidden here being overpowered by all the colours and textures.

James J
With relatively simple images such as these, they really have to be perfect to have impact. As it stands, the background is a bit distracting, as well as the overall colour variations, and you could have used a slightly faster shutter to stop the tiny drops that have splashed upwards. Overall, it's just in need of a bit of love.

A good choice for the theme. Timing is good but the DOF is too shallow overall and the background distracting. A piece of card behind would fix that easily.

For these shots the background needs to be a simple solid colour to not be so distracting.

Lunawolfy
Not a fan of the reflection of the light, but other than that, it's a really fun image.

Those reflections are distracting and make me wonder what's the plastic doing in the liquid. That stops me appreciating the image and drains the impact.

The only thing letting this one down is the strong reflections, shame really.

ManCuBuS
You've pushed the processing a touch too far for me, but many would like it. It's an OK shot aside from that, but it’s not really wowing me.

A tad too much contrast and saturation in post processing. Otherwise a nice panorama that is part way on theme.

A nice panorama with great symmetry just a little heavily processed.

Red.5ive.Oh
Nice idea executed effectively. Must have been great fun to do. Good stuff.

Loads of impact and you have captured it well. Some tweaks in post to remove that brown cast and a touch more exposure needed.

What a great image this screams Liquid form.

Wedge
Nice to have a different take on the theme. Like it overall - sharp and well processed.

Good eye contact and an interesting take on the theme. Nothing to fault here.

A completely different take on the theme that is well done, great work.

Wildman
Fun idea and well executed. Shame about the large shadow across the background, though.

A great shot with lots of theme relevance. It looks like your sensor might need a clean though.

Great shot with clear relevance to the theme, the background is both a little distracting but it also works well the overall image.

Thanks for the feedback! I intend to have another crack at these in a few weeks so I'll take the advice onboard.

Thanks again judges for your feedback - I will post a guide on the forums shortly if anybody is interested :)

Well done Chet. Thanks for the comments, I had an edit version with the stem drips removed but thought it looked too clinical, oh well nevermind.

Can't believe we are half way through the comp already, time is flying by.

Thanks for the feedback, I did indeed struggle with the processing. Perhaps I'll go back and have another go to see if I can get it how I wanted it.

Thanks for the comments

I haven't done the ice cubes before, though I have been really struggling the last few months I've entered :(

Well done Chet – a ‘stand out image’. Starting to wonder if it’s all over if he keeps pulling these out of the hat…

Just out of curiosity – I also did a completely mono version of mine to remove the colour cast and discarded it for the same reason - it looked cold and clinical along side the (tainted) original.
