An Exception
Not sure this really nails the theme aspect for me. Aside from that, it's a nice shot, but it's a bit of a pity about the post in the foreground. Nice DoF and processing, though.

Well framed and spot on DOF here which is great. Overall it's a good image but for the theme I'm afraid it feels less fairytale and more romantic fiction.

A well composed and captured shot with a really nice DoF it just doesn’t say fairy tale more a weekend affair.

Doesn't really do it for me. No eye contact or real perspective to the shot. I'd like to see a shot from a bit further back with some scenery and interest.

Overall the theme is there which is great but you have the flash is overpowering the scene completely. We need more background to locate your figure and tell the story better. Either shoot earlier in the day to use natural light or try 2nd curtain syncing to capture the ambient light and background.

More engagement with the subject is needed and some additional surroundings to set a better scene, a red cape does not just say fairy tale a story needs to be told.

This is a photo of some wooden toadstools and a bench. Would you want it on your wall? Processing is OK, though.

A good find and I feel we are part way there for the theme choice this month but you need to rework that composition. Change your viewing angle, get down low (between the benches) or up high (standing on a bench) would work. At the very least, take a few steps forward so not to include the seating in the shot would enhance it immediately. Ask yourself what each element adds to the image, if the answer is not much then to work around it.

I can see the potential of this scene but as it is this does not work. The composition feels cluttered and the two benches take centre place and there is clearly more interest in the toad stools and sign we need to get closer and lower.

DJ Switch
This is a lovely image, but the people (especially the white dress) get very lost in the bright sunlight coming through the leaves. Pity, as it spoils the shot a bit.

This is such a magical image on first viewing. The light and texture keep the eye moving around and soaking it in. I think that as the figures don't fit the theme you would have been better shooting it empty. If this wasn't a candid snap and you know the people then perhaps having the young girl coming towards you then would have worked. A great shot with lots of potential though.

A great shot with wonderful lighting and texture, my only criticism is that I don’t feel the people add anything to the scene and it may have worked better without them.

Englishpremier
Iceland. This might be very Disney with the big blancmange dress, but it doesn't say fairy tale to me.

Less fairytale and more fancy dress I can see you have worked well with what was at hand. The colour separation works to isolate your subjects but it leaves that massive Iceland store logo which contrasts with the B&W. If you can colour separate then it seems silly to not go one step further and clone out the sign.

You may have softened the back ground with the selective colouring but unfortunately the scene is still ruined by the Iceland sign.

GSXRMovistar
It's an OK shot, but not up to your usual standard, I don't think. I'd like to see some more of the scenery.

A charming image that captures fairytale very well. Great use of OCF technique and your environment has helped to remind the viewer of the theme. Great work.

The fairy tale is clear and the use of props helps set the scene, the composition and technique are sound it is just a little unexciting.

JRJ
It's a nice shot, though you've gone a touch far with the brightness in the foreground. I'm not really sure it hits the theme, for me, too.

A lovely scene and your use of the wall as a frame helps to draw the eye. It's medieval perhaps and as there are no signs of modern life in frame I think it's a success and on theme.

An interesting choice for the theme that has worked well it is a shame the foreground is overly brigh.

Red.5ive.Oh
I appreciate the effort that's gone into it with all of the posters :p Nicely shot, overall, though it's not going to win any awards.

Bags of character and you would be hard pressed to improve on theme this round. A great image, right through from concept, to props and shoot. Excellent stuff.

Clearly lots of effort has gone into this shot and it has paid off with a very interesting and impressive modern fairy tale scene.

Wedge
Lovely shot and great for the family, though it's not spot on for the theme in my book. Nice B&W conversion.

A nice idea to look at things from another perspective. Clearly the child is happy and in a fairytale world of her own making. I would be tempted to bring the crop up the edge of the path or remove the obvious vignette as they distract from the simplicity of the image.

Although weak on theme it is very nicely shot and a good BW conversion.

Wildman
Quite a bit of haloing around the trees and building, which is a pity. It's an alright shot, but nothing to get excited about, I'm afraid.

Vibrant colours and a hint of motion in the foreground all help to make your image pop. I like the medieval link to the theme although feel that the modern roofing detracts just a little. Also need to watch you don't push the processing too far as there is some edge detail being lost.

I almost getting the theme here but it is very subtle other than the haloing and soft edges it is a good shot.

I struggled with this theme lol thank you for the comment anyway, though arguably I wouldn't like any of these entries on my wall! :p
