Anything to be aware of when it comes to the OcUK Pinnacle laptops? What're the risks being not a big-name build?

The Pinnacle range are essentially the same rebranded Tongfang / Clevo devices you will find from others available in the UK or abroad (example being XMG Neo / Neo S in Germany).

They generally review quite well and also tend to have max TGP GPU's, decent power delivery to the CPU (sustained boost clocks), decent build quality and a good selection of up to date ports. From memory the latest generation 16" models offer the option of the liquid cooling add in (via ports in the back of the laptop) which can dramatically lower CPU (and GPU) temps leading to better sustained performance (mixed results when it comes to noise however).

Note - the latest generation 16" models are either identical or very similar to the Medion range (same rebranding) and thus are quite close in overall design to Lenovo's Legion range (the latter owning the former).

Pricing wise they are generally on the lower end vs similarly specified models from other manufacturers but it very much comes down to what you want. Given the current climate however pricing is all over the place.

Read this thread here what I started a few weeks back and basically same issues as Medion laptops :-

What is your budget and how large a screen are you after ? Maybe find something better for the money and more reliable support for the software and hardware regarding BIOS and firmware updates as these laptops become paperweights if not supported well. Read my findings regarding Medion, which are basically all these same laptops under different names.

Firmware is a good shout, thanks.

Just musing about a gaming laptop around the £2K mark at the moment.

What size screen ? 16", 17.3", 18" .

Is that your max budget £2k ? or can it swing a bit up say £2300-2500 ? Because sometimes good deals in that price range when they have price drops/sales on and off on some models.

For your budget these are the models I would be looking at buying.
