OCUK pre built PC to replace xbox

@mickyflinn yeah that case does look nice, but need something not quite as deep for where its going, the xt pro ultra is only 450mm deep I believe, not much in it, but still. Might get it in white as well as its going in a large white open cabinet.

Im thinking I might order some things where available such as the case, PSU and motherboard so I can at least get the bios update done, mind I might need to order some parts elsewhere due to stock.

Also if I can get a decent price would it be wise to order the MSI tomahawk x670e over the b650 variant?

Update/, found this case that isn't quite as deep as the phanteks, would this be ok for my parts already listed

Case looks nice and yes all the parts will fit according to the listed dimensions

The x670e offers pcie5 and more ports over the b650 but you could opt for an x870 which offers pcie5 also.

If your after a white board take a look at the
Gigabyte B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE which can be had for £200.

Lots of options.

Cheers, one last question for now, when I initially set up everything I will use a wired connection, will Windows update pull down the WiFi drivers for the motherboard, or would I need to install them manually from msi website?

Thanks.

Not 100% sure but windows may install a generic driver so it's best to get them from the motherboard website to be sure there optimal.

Remember first boot on AM5 can take up to 15mins for anything to show on screen and may reboot a few times this is because the motherboard is training the memory so be patient.

Think I will order the bulk of what I want and order the gpu in in a week or 2, not sure the exact dates of the new ones but hope to see a drop on the 4070ti maybe. Guess no guarantee on that though.

So all the things I need to get it up and running are out of stock

Have ordered some of the main parts like case, cpu, motherboard, but the PSU and CPU cooler are on preorder!. will check back in a few days see what's what.

Are you going to source them elsewhere or wait ?

Im waiting on the cpu cooler, if it takes to long I presume its easy to cancel a preorder?

I want to try and source the PSU elsewhere, but cant find anywhere, unless there is an alternative 1000w at similar price in stock here.

For now Ive just loaded the bios onto a usb drive, although I don't think its a must for the 7800x3d it should work out the box, but presume its good idea to update to latest beforehand anyway.

Luckily I have a laptop to download drivers and what not.

The phantom spirit or peerless assassin is easy to get , as for the PSU not much options due to stock.

See what I can get, change with OCUK, there is the Peerless Assassin 120se as well which looks fine.
The phantom spirit is the newer version of the assassin it comes with an extra heatpipe making it slightly better v, but to be honest there bothe excellent for the money .

The spirit is 157mm tall while the assassin is 155mm

Found a psu in stock, so think I will go for this one, after someone mentioned this one on here.

Edit/will wait for the asus TUF 1000w to come into stock.
If I remember correctly, I have heard that these PSUs by Corsair are not very good quality and not as good as other PSUs they did

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong!
