OCUK pre built PC to replace xbox

Does that come with a 12vhpwr cable, I keep reading about this cable, no idea about it though, just that it seems important

Might go for the 850w if I get this one.
its the new type of connecter that they have added to the 40 series GPUs.

Yes, it does as I have a 4070Ti and no longer need the adaptor that came with the gpu

So just a few things I will wait on such as GPU and storage for now.

I was going to get a 2tb, but wondering if I should get 2 drives, one for windows and the other for games. Or perhaps just get a 2tb and partition it, if thats a good idea. Trying to keep my budget in check is hard!

Do you have a spare HD? I'm using a 2.5" 500GB SSD for windows and some games, with nvme for other games

No, thinking about it, it's mainly for msfs this pc, and maybe the odd Microsoft exclusive, might be best just keeping it simple with the 2tb drive. Not someone that keeps loads of games installed.

Having a dedicated OS drive is useful if the OS ever goes down, that a reinstall won't effect the pre installed games. Or you are testing various OS images ie debloated versions one I use only has 65 running processes.

Or another option is create a partition on the 2TB for OS.

Also one benefit of using a cheaper SSD for OS, is for browsing, if you use it a lot for internet cache, you'll be wearing down a cheap drive- instead of your more expensive ssd. ie the SSD in my laptop is 80% health because of the internet cache, compared to 100% on my gaming NVME's (install game once)

I think 1 drive will be fine then, as It won't be used for browsing, its primarily for games, as its replacing my xbox.

I will look into windows partition, but makes me wonder the benefit of that, if the drive happened to fail, you lose everything still.

Just grab a 500gb to 1tb for windows and programmes and a 2tb for games it's not that much more to do so...

Particions are fine but if the drive fails you loose it all.

I often store more than just games on my games drive.

@mickyflinn :D Peerless assassin/phantom spirit cpu cooler, would you mount outside of case then install mobo?
Is it a case of just seeing what’s easier, no right or wrong.

I was thinking of mounting once motherboard is in case, backplate already installed to mount cooler.

Oh and did ask this but just to be sure.

Msi tomahawk x670e and ryzen 7800x3d, and the expo 64gb corsair vengeance ram.

Should I flash to latest bios before building? Have a usb stick ready with latest bios on it.

Just not sure if I should or not.

Thanks

Hello again

Would this GPU be ok for my build, was looking at the Zotac 4070ti super but seen the below for same price.

Zotac 4070ti looks nicer though.

Zotac do a 5 year warranty if registered within 28 days otherwise it's 3 years.

I might keep an eye on prices for the Zotac 4080 super trinity then, bit pricey at present though.

Think the above would work with the parts I have now, shouldn’t be any different from the Zotac 4070ti super in terms of fit?
