Okay if you want new games then EU3 and HOI2. Both fantastic games.
Colonisation works fine in windows, in fact I think it's freeware so even more reason to add it on for people to try.
And I can't believe you didn't think civ2 had good graphics, let me guess.. you didn't try it when it came out? It was 1996 ffs, what do you expect 3D units??
Civ2 was my favourite to play, civ1 however still gets best of the series from me just because it introduced me to games and taught me so much.
Civ2 was also one of the first truly modifiable games out there, you could change just about everything and some of the mods were absolutely stunning.
Really don't put a game down when you obviously haven't played it when it was in its prime.
