The I7 960 is a very very powerful CPU and the I7 980 is shockingly powerfulallow.

I'm with Gibbo here, short of some newer features on the mobo, the i7 9xx are beasts. My 920 is getting long in the tooth now, is lightly clocked and is nowhere near bottlenecking.
