Dear all,

I have now booked the rolling road at Eurospec in Guildford for Saturday 19th March 2011. The guys at Eurospec have asked for us to be there for a 9am start. This I would say should mean that we meet there for the latest at 8.45am.

Address is as follows:

Eurospec 2000
Unit 401
Henley Park Industrial Estate
Normandy
Guildford
GU3 2AF

Website:
http://www.euro-spec2000.co.uk/

I have asked about cars with auto transmissions, DSG boxes etc, and they said that they run them all the time without problems. So hopefully anything we can chuck at it will be fine!

The dyno package costs £35 per car providing that we have at least 13 cars run (according to their website anyway.) This package includes:

  • From £35 per car (less than 13 cars £40)
  • Set up car on Dyno
  • 3 Power runs
  • Full Graphing
  • Turbo cars run with Det cans
  • Trophy for the most powerful car
Additional to this they provide:

  • Free Tea/Coffee
  • Free cans of Coke/Diet
  • Free use of BBQ for club events
  • Free biccies, cakes and general munchies
  • Subsidised Pizza Delivery
I am yet to find a suitable location that we can go to post rolling road session. So for all the local guys, could you please make some suggestions, obviously needs to have room for a good few cars, some semi decent roads to take people for drives etc. I would much appreciate your help in this aspect. The sooner I know, the better, as I can again book something.

I also ask that everyone intending to run pays a small deposit of £10 via PayPal Gift. The reason I ask this is because it is all well and good saying you will come and then not show up, potentially leaving us with less numbers than required and other members having to make up the difference.

This can be paid to my Paypal account of [email protected] - your cooperation of this is much appreciated. If you wish to pay by other means, please contact me on the same email address with your username, car details etc and how you would like to pay, and we can go from there.

Obviously once you have paid a £10 deposit, it should only leave you with £25 to pay on the day.

I think that is about it, if I have missed anything someone please tell me so I can make ammendments etc.

The Hog's Back Cafe is in a layby on the Guildford to Farnham (westbound) carriageway of the A31 along the Hog's Back, between the turn offs to Puttenham and Seale. It is popular with lorry drivers, who use the cafe and toilets during the day. The hillside adjacent to the A31 layby is also a popular site for dogging (viewing or participating in sexual relations in a public place).

Your not actualy that far from The Ace Cafe, probably under an hour, but then your stuck in grim NW London with no decent roads

Farnborough Business Park has some decent roads around. A couple of car parks to stop in as well. Being a weekend it's usually not too busy around there. Just an idea.

I'm struggling to think of decent (cheap-ish) pubs that have lots of parking.

Count me in!

I don't plan on selling the EVO now until April as since its been fixed I am enjoying it too much, AYC for the win and can't wait to get my AD08's back on. :D

So:-

Gibbo - EVO X FQ-360 (Stuck myself on the list) ;)

Who is bring the burgers and sausages for the BBQ?

I was saying to Howard on MSN, maybe we should include Newland's Corner in the route?

Newlands Corner isn't a bad bet except it'll likely be quite busy (as always). There are a few little routes around there that can be good fun but it's working out whether a convoy of 25 cars is really appropriate for the little (and I mean little) roads. There's no decent dual carriageway stretch short of popping down to Clandon Lights?

I doubt he'd come but I'll ask my housemate if he wants to bring his stock FQ-360 down as a little comparison :p

There's a pub in Ripley called The Jovial Sailor, which has a big car-park. I'm not sure how good it is as I've never been in there, mind.

It depends how far we want to drive from the RR, pre-lunch really. The A283 down to Petworth is nice, but again depends on preferred distance.

P.s. I've paid, Kosta.
