OCUK RTX4060TI review thread

NVIDIA have really outdone themselves with this 4000 series lineup. Four thousand and sixty own goals with this one.

I don't think AMD could release a worse product at that price even if they tried. They could literally re-release the 6800 with the 7000 series moniker at £500 and it would beat the 16GB 4060Ti.

You're not wrong, a 6750XT with 21GB/s memory IC's and a 10% clock bump would beat the crap out of the 4060Ti. No joke

$350, job's a good'n.

I didn't find the review as bad as people make it out to be. I've no idea what people expected, he mentioned several times how close the 6700xt is, and that if you own a 2060 or anything older than that then this is a decent upgrade. And all of that is absolutely true, but somehow people are mad. Wtf

He cited pricing for the 6750XT from amd.com, $420 and then used that to argue the 4060Ti as much better value, this when they are as low as $299 at normal retailers.

That is very deliberate.

now i've see reviews, performance to power is pretty good on this card, for my ITX needs I think its a great little card, yeh price is high but having a single fan ITX card with this performance was really needed. The 3060 non Ti was pretty much the only card you could get last gen, and it was terrible.
It’s 40w less than a 3060ti for virtually the same performance, not exactly game changing.

By comparison a 3060ti was 50w less than the 2080 super for the same performance so even the efficiency on the 4060ti is nothing special.

They followed script that Nvidia gave them . To include the 2060 was one of them

At least we can read between the lines. But should not have to. Calling the 4060 Ti highly recommended is just bizarre. He even tried mental gymnastics to explain his decision making on his forum. But then gave in and removed the reward. Sad.
Yes saw that , that's why i added likes to what people said about the silly highly recommended award and a laughing face when he was trying to justify it all.. and he knows I normally like his reviews and thought highly of him, but failed badly this time.. a turd by any other name is a turd and shouldn't hide that fact.

I was able to get 3080 Fe and 3060ti Fe at msrp
How long you planning on keeping it and what resolution? They advertised it as 1080p lol when last gen 3060ti was 1440p so we going backwards now

Only thing would make it a great little card is calling it 4050 and charging less for it just like what they done with the rest of the 40 series by putting them up a tier when they are actually tier down

Don't care how much power it uses when you already overpaying with that performance

God help us if people actually think this is good this is worst of the bunch yet still have some positivity about it

I wonder how it would've been received if it was released as a 4050 Ti with a $400 price tag.
Probably the same as if they had released a the other cards with what their real names would be according to the specs.
4070ti £1200
4060ti £800
4060 £600
4050 £400
Notice how they look very similar to the prices being charged during the mining boom.

Yes, and to cite the pricing from amd.com at $420 when they are readily available at normal retailers for $299 and then use that to make the argument that the 4060Ti is much better value.

The performance is near identical to the 4060Ti and its a 12GB card vs 8GB, its a category competitor for the 16GB 4060Ti at not far off half the price, yes that is EOL pricing but it matters when you use them as a price comparison.

Paid in some way or not this is shilling, its worse if this was not paid because no one can be that stupid which leaves only raging Nvidia fanboy.

I only watched the nexus review and it looks like Nvidia had a meeting and concluded that no gamer shall have a good card for under £600

Agree its nothing amazing compared to 3060 ti, still 20% power saving is decent enough. Like i said though, i'm comparing it too a 3060 non-ti as i'm more interested in the single fan circa 200mm form factor. You coudlnt get that form factor in a 3060 ti or 2080.

Pretty much that although i wouldn't call it a script. All companies sending out review samples will include a press pack with suggested talking points, it's up to the reviewer if they go with those talking points. Obviously the company want people to focus on the good while ignoring the bad, it's their job to sell the product.

In a way i feel for the Nvidia employees as they were given this card and they had to come up with reasons to buy it, i can't remember what review i watched but IIRC one of them did say how Nvidia staff on the conference call last week sounded like they felt awkward, almost embarrassed, when queried over certain aspects like the memory situation. It's why i could never do a job in sales as you get asked to go out and sell a product that may well be crap, to extenuate the positives and play down the negatives, it's either that or lose your job.

Instruction for trying to sell this poop at this price came down from on high.

That's not the reviewers job tho, their job is to provide honest and unbiased information so people can make an informed decision.

reviewers should not be making any recommendations or citing opinions on what you should buy at all, when they start doing that, which a lot of them do now... they are marketing for the product their are reviewing.
And in this case, some of them, like JayZ2Cents put out a video that was nothing but marketing for the product, it should have had "this is a promotional video brought to you by Nvidia" pastured in green at the top of the screen for the duration of the video, because that's what it was.

you've not understood my point, for the sfx form factor its a decent upgrade from a 3060 non ti.
