Didn't want to spam with a new thread for I think a simple query. My 5600 xt is installed on the board and I'm ready to boot up but noticed in the quick guide from sapphire it's referencing a CD for card installation which I can categorically state did not come in my packaging. Will it still be possible to boot cleanly?

I don't think its going to tempt myself or anyone else to ditch Vega for it, but it's a nice card, good upgrade from 580/590 though, great at 1080p and very good at 1440p for the price. You can game very well at 1440p for £250 ish. To upgrade from Vega its 5700XT or bust, or wait for a double the performance card.

got a gigabyte oc 5600xt today its on the 12gbps f60 bios
my bios isnt called any of the bios you see on their pages its just called 017.001.000.049
no idea how to get it to f3 ive tried all the files on gigabytes website none work

Okay I figured it out you can flash the f2 bios using gigabytes own file and app on support page

but to go f2 to f3 i had to use Amdvbflash

now on f3 bios and the memory is still 12gbps looks like i'll be refunding if i cant sort this thats a scam if half the cards wont flash to 14 memory

its also unstable on f2 and f3 getting lock ups and reboots forced shutdowns this cards terrible am returning and refunding if i cant sort it in a couple days

shocking really that they are saying 5600xt can update to 14gbps but are selling models which wont allow it, trading standards should be informed

tried all bios now, none set the memory to 14gbps am returning and never buying anything gigabyte ever again

this is going to be a disaster for amd nobody is going to want a hard locked 12gbps version of the card, here's mine on the 14gbps bios

the cards still on amds official 14gbps compatible list btw

The bios details with Gigabyte are odd, As i said elsewhere i purchased the OC gaming Refurb the other day. In HW info i get the same Bios number you refer to 017.001.000.049, and when you google that you get the same bios being mentioned in relation to old Mem and new Mem speeds, It is all a bit odd.

I tried updating using their website but yeh bit of a mess as nothing seemed to update (so i just left it as it was from Manufacturer - Refurbed). So anyway if you run GPU shark and then a benchmark stress test i can see the following It says : GPU 1768Mhz / Mem 1860Mh,z this is with all the slider in Radeon software tuning turned to max.

So as you can see below. The clock speeds the 5600XT would have had (what it thinks a 5600XT should have i guess) then what its actualy doing in a test.

GPU Shark v0.17.1

1500 MHz = 12 Gbps memory
yea the whole thing is confusing but i've tried every single bios and none are 14gbps
doesnt help that gigabyte still speak engrish their explanations are abysmal
you can read the bios with AMDVbFlash mine came with f60 so i flashed f61 which is meant to be 14gbps but it remained at 12 also tried f2 and f3 all the bios on their support are flashable to the card but none produce 14 memory

https://www.amd.com/en/graphics/amd-radeon-rx-5600-xt-14gps-models
it's still listed there to upgrade to 14 but it wont it's going to be a big problem for amd with lots of returned cards and unwanted 12 gbps models, fair enough if the 12gb ones are cheaper but they're not

yes so as per my previous post my card runs at 14Gbps well actualy more but ... but the bit before is what it thinks the card i guess by default, but its not, what does GPU shark show for you when you stress the card?

I agree though the whole bios thing is hit n miss between cards/revisions/etc etc.

FYI in AMDvbflash mine shows as GV-R56XTGAMING OC-6GB/F2/09EC

I think a lot of the reporting tools report back thats its 12Gbps when its not when you monitor Mem with tools and stress the GPU.

pretty sure it will show up in gpu-z as 14gbps if flashed to it no ? one on the right is what it should look like when flashed to 14gbps ?

also this thread doesn't exactly inspire confidence https://community.amd.com/thread/252648 maybe theres 2 versions of the card floating about ? one locked at 12gbps and the other capable of 14 with a flash ? think i'll just return and refund tbh no bother this card isn't for me

I cant see your screenshots sorry. GPU-Z 1st tab tells a bit of an odd story again.

it has :

GPU clock 1308 (which is not right) memory 1860hz (which is what it does when testing and monitoring
Default clock 1560Mhz (which again isnt right as per GPU shark) and memory 1500Mhz (again wrong)

When you run a stress test and monitor the sensors GPU-Z says :

GPU clock 1768Mhz (max will bounce around a few Hertz)
Memory Clock 1860Mhz (14.88Gbps)

Which is what GPU shark was reporting also (below)

- GPU: 1768.0MHz
- Texture fillrate: 254.6 GTexel/s
- Pixel fillrate: 113.2 GPixel/s
- Mem: 1860.0MHz (14.88Gbps)

I expected it to arrive with the latest bios and set to 14Gbps tbh
I'll just add that the bios it arrived on F60 and latest amd drivers it was not stable several shutdowns out of the blue.
Seems like these 5600xt are a bit of a lottery, hats off to those that get lucky and bag a 14Gbps one though. But Amd and the manus need to come clean and say only some will operate at 14 Gbps as the way they're wording it all the models listed on their site should be flashable to 14gbps.

I think Amd gpu in gentral a lottery. I had a vega64 for a week before this and it was a nightmare. Bsod/driver issues the works.
