OcUK Ryzen 2000 series review thread

I'm more inclined to believe Anandtechs numbers than anyone elses. I've always had them down as an Intel biased site tbh...

Their numbers were all updated for the recent security patches and they put good work in.

no i get its new but look at what it is nothing much more than ryzen then look at the comment i replied to amd basically crushing intel.when the truth is intel has a faster chip in every section so no big news.

funny thing is as i have stated before numerous times i have intel and ryzen systems.so no bias.just honest.

Try looking at the Anandtech review and then look at your statement ;) , overall with a good X470 board it looks good for the Ryzen 2700x, only downside I can see is overclock headroom.

They had a fully patched Meltdown and Spectre Intel system which they mention in the review.

Also decent motherboards,

X470 Motherboards
For our reviews, AMD shipped us two motherboards: the ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero (Wi-Fi) and the MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC. These will be two of the high-end halo motherboards to focus on the new X470 chipset.

Are you reading the same reviews as I am? Because in the Anandtech review I just read, it's shows the 2700x beating the 8700k more often than not.

No!..Try doing reviews with the right boards ie x470 boards and all patches / updates installed, then you see how many did not install or use these .

Update: A number of comments have noted that some of our gaming numbers are different to other publications. To clarify, we used the latest ASUS 0508 BIOS (on X470), full Windows RS3 + updates, Spectre/Meltdown patches, and updated gaming titles. We are reviewing the data.

If that is true then that is massive news that Meltdown/Spectre makes that much difference.

yeah. Our remaining i7 render stations at uni have taken a big hit with the patches. Fortunately they are being replaced with Ryzen / Threadripper systems over the summer.
