3 raxx is all in if you cut workers to make your push stronger and dont expand or tech at all, otherwise its a pretty good opener for a macro game.
 
Well the point is if you do that on someone who has expanded and/or teched and fail to win outright or do tons of damage then you will definitely lose.
 
Terrans don't seem to have that many all-ins these days. I give the example of morrow vs idra in the IEM finals, morrow pulls all his scv's with his army to kill idra, his attack fails, but his income is higher than IdrA's from mule calldown. cool.

anyways yeah it's a FE as protoss, while pumping units out of 1 gate till you can get the expo up. around the time it' nearly complete you have 3-4 gates, and when it finishes you can then transition into normal 2 base play, ie 6 gate + tech, or whatever. That then allows you to pull ahead in food count from being behind.

The risk though, is surviving to get your expansion up. if the terran attacks early, or throws down a magical all-seeing-eye-scan then they'll probably just walk over to your base and roll you.

Yeah it would be great if you could sort out who is going to play who from what group even if all the groups aren't finished yet Alex. I'm working nights next week, so I'm not going to be able to play at all then (84 working hours in one week + travel!). I wasn't expecting to progress from the group stages, so if I could play my next game this weekend that would be great.

i think hes going to give everybody untill the weekend (saturday i think he said) to finish their group games. i guess those that don't finish won't get points etc. and the current top 2 will go through.

I'm available to play next week all week, and possibly next weekend. so i THINK im ok. but this weekend im totally booked up.

I won't really be able to play a week on from next Wednesday (about 2 weeks from now after the weekend!). I was hoping that the person I was down to play might have already qualified so we could get the game out of the way early not to hold up the tourney.
 
Hopefully I'll be home from work on time today so from 5.30pm should be good. I'll login to the game and post here to try and reach (hurr) you.

I'm about to head home so we can play our game this evening :)

It's going to be close in our group actually. If I don't win our game, I'm out :( And if I win our game, and you beat nex20, then we have a rather awkward situation where we've all won 3 games, and beaten one of each other :)
