Greetings. Been having a lot of problems with this system lately and it's been ages since I did a decent upgrade so was hoping you lot could help out with thiis.

I have roughly £1000 to do it with though the cheaper the better

Would choosing the i5-6600K be a significant boost over the I7 930 (aside from ghz speed)?

This is fine and would work well, but personally i would go with a 390 or 390x gpu but if you wanna go with nvidia the 970 is very good still and its got shadowplay. your psu is overkill for a 970 even in sli I would go for a superflower gold rated 550 watt or 650 watt.

You can get an i5 6600k bundle for just under £300 and that will save you a bit of money

If you only plan on running a single gpu then 550W is enough.
