Hi,

I've been looking at the gaming rigs on OcUK for around the 1000 mark (inc VAT), but I can't quiet tell which are the quiet rigs. Can anyone provide any advice based on experience, etc on these?

Thanks,

Yao

Can't persude you to build your own?
Then you could make it as quiet as you wanted?

Noise is mostly generated by the CPU cooler fan and the Graphics Card Fan.
The further you push your CPU/GPU the more heat is generated and the fans on the cooler will spin faster and louder.
Better cases can help with reducing the noise made, with a combo of padding and good airflow.

£1000 could get you a nice quiet rig if you wanted a few specs from the community.

I'm not averse to building my own rig, but I haven't the time or inclination to do the research these days into the individual components. If someone can recommend the components that are proven to work together then I'll be happy to listen.

This is the first time in my life I'll be buying a pre-built system but I'm happy to do it based on forum recommendations, etc.

stulid - Yes, I will want windows 7.

Thanks,

Yao

Rigs like "Ultima Viper" Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz @ 4.00GHz DDR3 System - V2.0 - is this a quiet rig?

It's a rubbish rig. You're better off with something like the Titan Supersaurus. You need an i5 2500K, a good PSU and a powerful but cool graphics card, like the GTX 560Ti. A good cooler and a solid state drive to avoid too much noisy mechanical hard drive use are also golden.

Switch the OC off if you want it to stay quiet.

reasonable gaming rigs?

Might be better than you think;) fastest CPU on the market for a gaming system, its overclocked too, the GTX560TI is overclocked and will match a GTX570
