I am setting up an exchange with John Lewis to return the HP Omen 880-021na for the system linked below. What do you guys think all the components of it would be?

Plus is it a rip off? When I factor in the GPU market right now and the 3 year warranty, I didn't think it was so bad. Would really appreciate any thoughts.

Incase the link does not work it is £1399
RX 580 8gb
16gb of RAM
Ryzen 5 1600
240gb SSD
2tb HDD

Unfortunately I cannot see what PSU, cooler, mobo is included.

It would not be too late for me to cancel.

I have a freesync monitor so was looking to get a radeon GPU, been having a good try to configure something that matches the John Lewis one but always works out more expensive when I try to get that RX580 8gb card.

yeah that 1070 will drive 100hz on 108p ultra just fine unlike 580/1060. I know you've got a freesync monitor - which will normally always last 3 times as long as GPUs :)

with prices going nuts, got to swallow what you ideal want, with the best system you can buy for the price.

ryzen 1600 vs i7 8700 = no brainer on that one

is your monitor 1440p by any chance ? if so...1070 1070 1070!!!!!!!!!

It is 1080p it is the HP omen 25".

Basically what I would like is a computer that will run games nicely at 1080p now and then will allow me to upgrade in the future to probably 1440p or even 4k. I will get a 4k monitor in the next couple of years but I have heard that if you play games at 1080p or 1440p on a 4k monitor it will look blurry? I mean I am not a competitive gamer by any means (I just play the campaigns!) but would be annoyed if the games were blurry.

for your money, would get the i7 8700 and gtx 1070 system. ou'd be crazy not to- unless you want to mine when your not on the system :)

gtx 1070 can handle 60hz 1440p , rx580 would struggle ! 4k- looking at gtx 1080ti/vega 64 or next gen latter half of the year
