Hi, im just wondering if when you get a Pre-built/Custom machine built by OcUK, and choose one of the OS options, does it come pre-installed, or is it for me to install when i get it?

Thanks in advance, Cas.

Pretty sure they do, when they did the build logs they got all the benchmarks so must have had an OS on them.

We will install your operating system and the latest drivers for all components for you. :)

Hi, couple of quick questions regarding the OcUK pre-built systems:

- Do the pre-built systems ship with back-up CDs containing the OS and the various drivers?

- What kind of documentation (manuals etc) do the pre-built systems normally come with?

Cheers

I bought a pre built system just this week and was delivered yesterday. It will come with all the original boxes, cds, drivers, documents, manuals, OS disk, packaging, and various screws, spare cables and fixings etc that the original kit came with. All pre installed.

Just need to tweak it to how you like. Or, like me, after spending years on XP, try and find your way around Vista for the first time!

Thanks for the info physichull, much appreciated. Sounds like they provide a good service.

Rather than start a new thread I hope you don't mind if I post this here:

I'm looking to replace my noisy old AMD 3400+ Shuttle with a new machine. I've built my own systems in past but this time round I'd prefer to buy pre-built.

My requirements are:

- Budget of £500 - £550 (this would include the purchase of a new OS)

- The main use would be for gaming, mainly older games (eg Rollercoaster Tycoon 3) but also the occasional newer game (Fallout 3, Empire Total War). I'd like to be able to run the newer games at a decent framerate and level of detail.

- My current monitor is a Hyundai Q17+ so the max resolution isn't great. However, I'm thinking about upgrading in the future so the graphics card included in the system would have to have enough grunt to meet the requirements of a 20-22" widescreen monitor.

- Apart from gaming, I'd just be using the PC for normal PC-type-activity (surfing the web, watching DVDs etc).

- My other main requirement is that the machine isn't too noisy. To put it in perspective, I currently have two machines: one is the aforementioned Shuttle and the other an Xbox 360...both are situated about a foot away from my head and they both sound like industrial vacuum cleaners! Anything quieter than that would be most appreciated!

So, I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the direction of a pre-build ocUK system that meets the above requirements.

Cheers

Prob this for the £500 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-147-OK&groupid=43&catid=1184&subcat= then choose which gfx card you want.

On a side note to any mod the details need changing on the AMD gaming sytem page it says its £413.99 inc vat but when you click on it its £425.49 .
Same with the vulcan that is on offer this week that shows £648.20 inc vat on the AMD gaming sytem page but when clicked on it shows as £699.94 inc vat :)
