[OcUK] Tag

Hey all,

I was just wondering if there are certain requirements to have the OcUK tag in your Steam Name?

I don't really see why there would be a requirement because at the end of the day it's a Gaming Community and all that would happen is advertisement...

But i did not want to be cheeky and whack it in my name without any confirmation...

yeh should be good to be able to use it. gd advertising for the site etc.

It's not a clan, nobody runs it and there are no rules. It's yours if you want it.

Seen some guys wearing the Tag on TF2, Didn't know if it was a private thing or not though.

I think the ocuk tag thing got used a lot was when l4d1 came out. It was a way for us to play with people only from the site. Since l4d is a game you want to play with people you know, having the tag was a good way to do this.

I think I might of been the one to start the tag. I can't remember anyone else using it until I put it on my name.

I just got L4D in the steam sale and realised what I've been missing this whole time. It's pretty awesome! I'll add the tag to my name too.

You are correct, if OcUK is a copyrighted you need permission

The official CS clan disbanded many moons ago. I don't think there was an official TFC clan.

The CSS clan used tocuk to avoid complications.

For other games its just a tag to represent you are from the community.

Don't know about "OcUK" being copyright. "Overclockers UK" should be however.

People use the [OcUK] tag for nothing more than identifying other OcUK'ers during games and on their Steam lists (for invites, etc.). At least this is how I have always understood it.

I tend to use the tag as a way of identifying new people to games trying to let people know where they're from
