I'd appreciate some advice with regards to adding a second card to my water cooled Titan.

It's a 3 year old OcUK Tech Lab H2O Custom GTX TITAN 6144MB GDDR5 which I think was a Zotac before the water block was added.

I'm planning to move up to a 4k screen and I'm not sure if the card would still cut it playing BF4.

If I wanted another card in SLI, would I have to try and source an identical one or could I add a newer Titan but accept then it would function down to the level of the existing one?

Best wishes,

Rob

Best bet would be to sell it and get a 1080 or wait a bit more for the Vega and big pascal to come out.

If you need the Titan for DP purposes you can just get another Titan any other brand is fine. If you mean a Titan X, I would not do that, would be better of with a 1080 if you going to spend that kind of money anyway.

I have two original Titans in SLI (also watercooled) and have recently upgraded to an X34 Predator monitor (which has fewer pixels than 4k). With this setup I'm finding it hard to hit high framerate targets without lowering the details in most modern games, including in BF4.

With Nvidia SLI you have to match the cards model exactly (although vendor doesn't matter), therefore I think you'll be struggling at 4k even with a second original Titan in SLI unfortunately :(

Two Titan X's would be a different story though!

yup OCUK cards are all zotacs most likely

in this case, im going to say you should wait for the non founders gtx 1080 which should be cheaper and you can just rip the cooler off anyway to watercool it

original titans still go for around 250-300 so I dont see it worth it to buy a second

Bit overkill for a Physx card tbh. Sell it on to recoup some cash.

This

The 1080 is Pricey but if you can recoup some cash and upgrade or in setters mind side grade ;):p it takes the sting out of the process.

I'm happy spending 150 for a 1080 after the sale of my 980ti

No more though.
