Hello All,

I am considering buying this water cooling kit.

As this will be my first venture into water cooling will this type of kit be sufficient for me to see reasonable temperatures whilst clocking a 4770K?

Did look at the 120mm version but as this 140mm will fit wondered if it will be a bit more efficient and I do not really want anything bigger.

As for research I have spent last week looking at various options, my two primary concerns are silence which is why I wanted to go the water route plus the benefit of looks topped off with the ability to clock it to say 4.4 - 4.8Ghz if lucky.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Corsair 550D, only want CPU loop for now, 240 rad is ok but did not want to have to remove either the side or top panels on the 550D, was hoping to mount on rear exhaust or front intake.

Well from what I have read yes a single 120 loop is not really worth it hence why I considered the 140 option and did not like the idea of pre assembled closed loops.

Budget is not really a concern it was more the particulars that I wanted to use the 550D for silence and looks, I just like it.

If I was prepared to have open sides or top then it would be a no brainer I would surely go for a 240 or bigger but my idea was to do it without having to go that route.

The 750D is nice as well but really had set my heart on the 550D although the 750D does look nice too I have never been keen on windows.

Quite prepared to accept my idea is flawed but its a personal challenge, coolest and quietest I can possibly manage.

Thank you for replys so far.

Thats the thing, initially, not going to bother with one, will use on board, will purchase later, may sound strange but it suits me for now.

I'll start with the 140 kit from OcUK which will do the job fine for now, I will then add another 240 rad to the loop later on down the line, job done.

Case 550d.
