Hi Guys,
I am going to watercool very soon as I would like to start overclocking my cpu, only got a 100mhz gain atm with stock cooling and a rubbish case (temps too high to attempt more)

Ordering a corsair carbide 400r case with a load of akasa viper fans to get air moving for gpu (6950), and want to cool my phenom II 955 now.

I like the sound of water cooling, but am I better off getting;

Antec Kuhler 920

Or OcUK Tech labs v6

Or anything else under £130?
Or for this budget, should I just stick with a £50 air cooler (suggestions?) and save for a proper water rig?

Thanks for any help!

to add, it is pointless to go for a single 120mm rad loop as it will perform about the same as high end air

IMO, this is the best option :)

If you plan to do a full loop later and haven't yet got the case, then maybe get a case more suited to watercooling?

he'll need a different case though, as the 400/500r (they have exactly the same layout) only supports the h100 which is a 27mm thick rad, and it's really hard to get one that thin, so he'd just be better to go for a different case

Awesome guys! Thanks for the help!

I am liking the sound of getting a more water based case, but an air cooler so I can play around with overclocking a bit and install a nice loop later on.

Anyone recommend a case for less than £100 then? and an air cooler around £50?

And sehcure, I got a phenom II x4 955, but running prime 95 burn for half hour, I was getting avg temps of about 60c, and I read somewhere to keep it under 62, so didnt want to push anymore.
Using a CIT Saturn red LED case at the min as I was building on a strict budget, and the case was the first thing to suffer!

Try to go with full tower, once you have try - you never back on smaller ones.

Yeah, was looking at Full Tower cases, they are quite pricey though! All seem to be slightly over budget, but as you guys said, will be worth it in the long run!

May have a wander over to the "cases" and "cooling" sections for some ideas now!

ooo, and Cleeecooo, don't really like the look of that case to be honest =/
It is going to be sitting atop my Onkyo SKW-501 Sub in the living room, so has to be a looker as well as functional!

I know......I'm awkward! :-)
