Does anyone have any of the OcUK TFT monitors? I'm in the market to replace my ageing 17" CRT and I was looking at the likes of the 17" Viewsonic one.

I'd like DVI on it as my graphics card is a DVI input (plus I've heard it's better quality - I'm a bit of a monitor noob I'm afraid!) and I noticed the 19" OcUK ones go for as little as £140 ish and it has DVI and a short response time. Contrast and brightness are pretty similar to the branded ones.

Is there any reason why I should pay £30 more for a Viewsonic one that is 2" smaller? Does anyone have one?

Cheers :)

the only reasons they are cheap really is the branding, build quality and support i suppose. Viewsonic (and others) are more reputable brands but it depends whether that matters or not. One thing to note is that the panels used in those screens might not be as good as similarly spec-ed panels in more common models. I'm not sure who makes the panel in the OcUK Gamer 19" screen, but it doesnt look like a spec of any of the main panel manufacturers. The Hanns-G is very well priced though and is popular right now (have a look at the threads about it if you search). It has DVI connectivity as well which is very good at the price
