The 980 outperforms the 390X in most games at 1080p, with it trading blows at 1440p.

I'd go for the 980 if the price isn't too much different.
 
Can you not build the pc yourself ? That way you can choose the components you want.

The R9 390X is better value as it is around £50 cheaper than the GTX 980.
 
Probably hard to know but would the GTX 980 last a couple of years as I wouldn't be looking to make any changes till then
 
One thing to take note of is "express build"times.
I ordered this PC on Sunday and due to holidays etc paid the extrs £100 for dispatch within 2 working days. apparently it wont be sent untill tomorrow (wednesday) now in my books thats 3 days not including the sunday obviously but according to OC its still within 2!!!!!! The reason given was that Windows 10 doesn't have any drivers out yet for the sound card i ordered presumably they have heard of my plight and are rushing them out within the next 24 hours. The only thing is i am running my existing soundcard on win 10 with no issues, oh yes and i didnt actually order a soundcard.
Ive used OC since 2007 with no issues but feel if its not possible to meet the shipping times then don't offer them, ive now wasted a days holiday and wont be in for the delivery on Thursday so will have to try to go to my local DPD office which is a 40 mile round trip.When i asked about a refund on the £100 i was told i can get the postage back..... whoop must be carefull not to spend it all at once.
Hopefully the pc will be worth the wait but at he moment im not too happy as you might have guessed
