Ok gents,

We talked about a trackday for OCUK over the winter and Donnington seemed to be the best venue for all, after a quick call for Focused events they would give use of a garage based on numbers.

Now what is the that magical number is question, it would be nice to get some rough numbers now and pick a finger in the air into actually how many actually pay for it :) (no offence)

I am up for any date below and will definitely being 1 of them but would prefer a non noisy day.

19/23/26 June.

19th is noisy day £159 (105db)
23/26 is £109 (98db)

Have you tried No limits? They'd probably throw some discount in, they seem a lot less commercial than FE.

I'm up for this, won't be able to commit til closer to the time though

Doesnt seem like No limits are running donny this year, also im not so sure they will be around if that guy wins his case after the accident when someone was killed last year.

Pretty sure their liability insurance will sort it if he wins.

Possibly, I already have a TD in June so will be funds depending.... not sure I could pass a 98db day with any of my cans though....

No need to worry about how fast you are, it`s not a race its about wragging it as fast you are a capable and only you. If thats 60mph around then its good enough. I will be in the novices myself if i can get away with it. Some of the intermediate riders push it way to much in the corners with you for my liking. Fine if you have a bespoke track bike but when your pride and joy is on the line then NO.

Hopefully will have the new bike soon, so cant really say either-way, could always stick a sound DB killer in at least for the test :)

I need to sound test my track bike and see if a dB killer is needed, it's pretty loud. I might just buy a dB killer anyway so I can pop it in if it fails.

I'd be interested, the 26th would definitely be easier for me.

I wouldn't worry much about booked/reserving a garage, as long as a few are there early, you'd have a reasonable chance of holding some space for everyone.

I tend to float between novice and inters, would probably book novice to ensure I'm comfortable.

Could somebody give me a run down of how the day goes?
Never attended a track day before :)

How much track time do we get? What time do we arrive/get kicked out etc?

From what I've gathered novices & intermediates don't ride together, so would there be a considerable amount of time whilst the other group is on track, or is it half day for novice and the other for intermediate etc?

'normally' it's split into classes, if you go on a novice day for example, they have 'first time', 'a few times' and 'still not 100% confident'.

Each group has 20 mins on track normally, and you rotate throughout the day. So if you are there from 0900, you have your briefing and a talk about the track and often on the track by 1000.

Then you will get roughly 5 sessions. If you're like me, I always cheekily try and get in on other groups. first time I went, I was on the track pretty much solid, the marshalls knew and it was my first track day but saw me pushing the boys around in the highest class even on my old 748! So I really wouldn't worry about skill.

Lunch is often split between the 'classes', there will most likely be a tyre guy on site as well as a photographer. Fuel can be a little pricey, just don't get the super super stuff. It will blow your bike up haha.
