juat my little rant...

Odered nearly £2k worth of stuff from OCUK in the last year and had a good service so I decided to get some more bits fom OCUK

So I went ahead and ordered windows 7 the other day and asked for a later delivery date (good job i did) Browsing the site today I ssw some memory that I was interested in so I send a webnote asking if I ordered the memory (gave product number) if it could be shipped with my windows 7 dvd.

To my surprise I get a email saying "its done" so I thought what is done? Checked my order status and they added the memory to the order!!!

Im really annoyed as I did not ask it to be added I was asking if they could put them together to save on postage clearly stated in my webnote. So I dont even know what card they charged it to as I have a couple registered. Anyway rant over I sent them a message saying remove the memory and refund me I hope they get the message before they ship it out as I have found better memory but OCUK dont sell it

so you wanted them to add the ram to the windows 7 order, they did this for you without you having to ask (they did this to save you money and you stated you wanted this to happen) but now for some reason you dont want them to?

You asked, you got, you dont want?

Doesn't sound like ocuk cocked up here, more that they did exactly what you wanted quicker than you expected. Perhaps I'm missing something.

Sounds like a crossover in communication - possibly you weren't clear or the person at OcUK mis-understood you... hardly a big cockup imo - adding the item number kinda makes it look like you actually want that item added rather than a query.

OP was making an enquiry, not placing an order. So I'm with him on this one.

Careful though, no negative shop talk on the forums.

"...if it could be shipped with my windows 7 dvd." Any online store would have done what OCUK did with that request.

Unless your very clear with your wording tho something like this could easily be mistaken for a request rather than a query, and explicitly quoting a product number instead of saying "if I ordered some more RAM... blah" makes it even more confusing.

i see what you guys are saying it seems like a mix up maybe I could have made it a little more clear. but if was was the person on the other end answering I would have replyed saying this is fine would you like me to add it? not assuming. the only reason I gave a product number is so they can see its not going to be a huge box that I am trying to get delivered on the cheap.

Personally i just think they were trying to be helpful and save you on shipping, they may of mis-understood you but i'm sure it was done with the best of intention as you said you would want them to come together so they put them together for you. No need to rant over it, just an innocent mistake by someone trying to be helpful and thinking ahead.

You must have wanted the memory though, if you wanted to know if they could ship it with your Windass 7 dvd, so why ask for a refund, as they can ship it with your Windass, and so are doing, so i can't see a problem.
