Hi all just wanted to mention the experience me and my 11yr old lad had today.
We booked 2 slots so we could both have a look at this new "gimmick" that I had lead myself to believe.
Went into a fairly basic room except PC in the corner ,racing chair close by with steering wheel screen etc and some sensors up into the corner of the room.

I let my lad go 1st..(perfect gent me :D ) and after some instruction away he went,he was excited right away but kids his age get excited about finding 10p on the floor. So I thought nothing of it,he had his 15 mins and said it was awesome.. Me not believing the hype got fastened up headphones on controllers in hand and the 1st VR scene booted up..OMFG,I nearly wet myself it was the mutts nuts. I've got trackir I thought that was good but this, this was something else.

I'm not going to give any spoilers as to what we saw/interacted with but please, please if your thinking of going down and having a go..do it. You won't be disappointed. You might have seen videos or whatever but until you put them goggles and headphones on and interact with them controllers then you ain't seen nowt.

My lad is still talking about it nearly 10 hrs later,so thank you all at OCUK for letting us enjoy this experience .

A last word to the fella who took us in the room, who patiently answered all our questions, who advised and helped us every step of the way ( he usually works on the sales desk at front of shop) I'm sorry I didn't get your name but you were brilliant and we both thank you so much for this unbelievable experience.

But thanks to you I've now got a lad who wants VR for Christmas
I don't mind...I want one too :D
Cheers all

Surprised you didnt buy one there and then.:p Had mine a few weeks now and I still go omfg when I put it on, youtube vids cannot convey what it feels like to experiance vr. What games did you try?

We had a similar experience.
I was considering one so booked a session on our way back from Zipworld (skeleton zip line in Snowden, not a museum of clothes fasteners). My mate said he'd like to try it too.
Anyway, our friends son tried it (19) and loved it and then my missus and mate's missus had a go too. Everyone found it very impressive.
So off we went to find lunch and found the Escape Rooms (that Sherlock one is fiendishly difficult). Our friends got out the car park before us and my missus wanted to go back to OC to buy one. It was the day before stock arrived.
Saw our friends the next day and lo and behold, a delivery from OC for him. Ordered ours that night and not been able to get the missus off it.
Will order a 2nd one next year when I get my own space to use it.

The guy at OC was brilliant, very helpful with all my questions and the extra 3 people I didn't think would be interested.

Nice one guys,Danoliver1..if I hadn't just spent a small fortune on a CPU and GTX 1070 I probably would have done..
we did the sunken ship (that whale) omg. The office interactive, the paint one and the shooting the drones.
He said if we go again during the holidays let them know that we'd already tried them and he'd set some different games up.

Bickaxe..great story mate,my missus and daughter are going try it next week, there going to be blown away,my missus asked about the experience I told her to just try herself because I have no words to describe it to her,I'm lucky I only live 5 mins drive from OCUK ,but being so close has its pitfalls (I spend all my money there) :D yeah the staff member was incredible a really helpful guy and it was a brilliant experience. I'm just trying to find an excuse now to buy it..I'm going rummage around and see if I can sell some of my old gear on flea bay ;) thanks for your input guys,I really wanted to express my thoughts on today's VR show and I'm glad others feel the same.
Regards

I hope so. We've been limited to screens for decades, now we can start to be immersed in full environments. A friend tried ours out and I put her in The Lab. Told her to go to Iceland and her first reaction was "Woah!".
If games can do that in a few years then open world gaming will be incredible.
