Hello,

I've been using overclockers for all my home pc hardware needs many years now and this is the first time I've had problems accessing the site. It gets stuck in a loop at the checking browser stage and just refreshes every 2-3 seconds. This happens in Edge, Chrome and Firefox and i've turned off my adblock etc. I'm not using a VPN and I can access the site via my mobile phone over my wifi.. anyone got any ideas on what the culprit might be?

Thanks!

I have been having this problem too.

Its the links when you do a search like 5800x3d and click on the ocuk link, it just keeps going round in a loop and never redirects to the site.

Thank god I am not the only one that noticed this.

I've had this issue on both my pc and mobile.

@varkdm Why do you mention Cloudflare in your post? Are you using Cloudflare dns?

For example this goes round and round and round and never loads:

I would rename the title of this thread so OcUK know that its the website that's the issue not cloudflare.

@Gibbo FYI

Ocuk use cloudflare DDoS protection IIRC

We’ve raised this with the shop IT staff and it’ll be looked into, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

If people can let us know what devices and browsers they’re using and whether they’re on fixed home/work internet or 4G/5G then that would be helpful please.

It may have been a cache issue, please reply to this thread with the info I’ve requested above if it happens again (and tag me).

Thanks.

Has this been resolved? I'm using latest version of MS Edge on my work PC which is proxied by Zscaler. No other options to use other browsers, as they are locked down due to corporate policy.

At home it's a slightly different story. A while back I had to disable my ad-blocker to get the overclockers site to open correctly. Now it's not loading again, and weirdly it only opens with UBlock Origin enabled.

This worries me greatly. Why would it not load without an ad blocker running, and only load when an ad blocker is running? Is my browser's own determination of what is safe to load being impaired by an ad or a tracker? If that's the case, then I'm not destined to be an Overclockers customer for much longer.

Overlockers is not the first supplier I've stopped using because the website performs way more tracking than they're entitled to, and if thats true then it won't be the last either. I'll be taking a look at Zscaler logs tomorrow.

I was trying to order something ....

Have you tried to install another browser on your locked down laptop? I'm only asking because when I tried to install Firefox on my works laptop, it gave a UAC admin user/pass prompt, and when I clicked cancel, Firefox proceeded to install itself ok. It imported my Edge favourites and it's building up a browser history and speed dials across multiple sessions, so it is obviously saving data somewhere locally (not using online sync).

Hey all,

I just wanted to drop you a quick message to let you know your feedback is being noted and appreciate your help in investigating the issues some of you are having with accessing the site.

I'll be in touch if we need any more information to help our investigation, but please continue to let us know your OS, OS version, Browser, Browser version, and any extensions or VPNs you may be using.

Cheers!

Pointless activity when your web proxy detects the browser string and blocks anything except MS Edge. If it's not Edge (within 2 recent versions) then web traffic just doesn't happen. Obviously, I can install what I like on my own PC, but at home I try and at least mimic the security standards set by my customers. My client isn't the only one I've ever had that blocks firefox. Plenty of companies do, for a whole host of reasons.

I strongly suspect that there are trackers in the web code which are being filtered by ad blocker extensions and therefore they don't get seen by the core browser code and the page loads. What I've noticed for a while now, since the limitations placed on the use of cookies to collect data more companies are resorting to other tracking technologies and I suspect that other privacy settings are causing the page not to load correctly. The trouble is that I'm not about to lower my privacy settings to find out. Tomorrow I will be having a deep-dive in our Zscaler proxy logs.

Hey @Dirtyganker - can you confirm for me the full URL you are trying to access and the location of the VPN you are using?

Feel free to drop me a DM if you'd like.

The home page just does not load correctly. You get the menu across the top and thats it. Some limited ability to navigate using the menu but you can't use search and pages that load via selection of a product category have limited functionality.

I'm not using a VPN. I'm a BT customer at home which you can verify in the forum logs. At work all traffic is proxied through Zscaler. We have over 10,000 users nationally and I personally know that we have a number of Overclockers customers within that contingent, just from my own team. I've checked Zscaler and there's nothing being blocked so it has to be something being stopped by Edge itself. I can't install an ad-blocker on my work device to test.
