hi lads, got a dell 2005fpw second hand for £260 recently and i love it.

only trouble is it has the backlighting problem so it's a little annoying in dvd's... not too bad mind.

wicked in games, windows etc.

the reason ocuk are buggers is cause i almost decided to get the Belinea 102035W, and now they have put some more tastety ones on!!!!

is there any issues with any of the new monitors like screen bleeding?

and out of all these or keep mine what would you do? dont watch dvd's that much you see.

monitors considering are:
Belinea 102035W
Acer AL2016Ws
Acer AL2032WA
BenQ FP202W
Philips 200W6CS
Viewsonic VA2012W

they will be used for windows, word, and gaming mostly, but dvd watching is sometimes needed:)

Hi there

The Acer are superb panels!! :)

Fair enough they don't use quite as good panel as the likes of the Belinea and Philips screens but they do have a huge advantage and that is the price! They may only be analogue but in all fairness its very hard to be able to tell the difference in quality between analogue and DVI connections.

For value Acer is unbeatable. :)

yeah gotta say they are tempting, with analogue as apposed to dvi does screen setting change themselves? remeber an old tft not doing what the dvi version did, sorry for being vaige but i can't remember the issue i had, basically does analogue do the same as dvi.

please email a Don / admin if you have questions about your board access including MM. thanks

cheers

i emailed them several times about it, they havern't replied! can you have a word to someone to ask them please?

i havern't tried to access the mm for ages so i dont know why i can't.

I realise they are value monitors, and this is not meant as an attack on OCUK, but can someone tell me what the point is of not putting a DVI connection on a monitor these days - the only reason I can think of is price but I really cant believe one socket would add that much to rrp?

It's all marketing, they want you to spend more on a fancier model. But still want you drawn in by the initial good price of the first monitor.

I may be ordering one of these soon. If i do, i'll post pics.
