OcUK Zen3 review thread

AMD was never going to crush Intel in gaming, they have improved on previous gen and they got some good results vs Intel.

AMD CPU's keep getting better and better, competition is good, that's the main thing :)

Yep, and don't forget a huge portion of people who will be eyeing up a 5600/5800X for their PC which isn't purely for games, they'll be doing plenty of other "productivity" stuff on there too, so as an all-round package AMD are definitely hitting the mark. When comparing the 5950X to the i9-10900K they seemed to have really hit the mark, and offer a ridiculous work-PC CPU that will also do very well in gaming.

No one really has a right to complain about any price rises (either RRP by AMD or resellers) when stock goes so fast. Supply and demand, it's a free market

Reckon we'll see some price drops with intel cpu's and Z490 boards? Would be nice to see some price wars, the joys of competition.

The Linus Review touches on the RAM performance. They were getting 5% uplift on average frames just by changing from CL 16 to CL 14 with 3200mhz memory.

Yes watching porn while gaming :p thats as productive as it gets for most people.

That's with a 2080ti, it's bottlenecking zen3!

Fighting the urge to upgrade! Though, extra single thread performance could come in handy for sim racing / flight sims and VR...

I guess we'll have to wait till much later in the month to see what it's like when they throw these in with big navi for the SAM bits and whatnot, though I think I read somewhere that should only give a few extra percent of performance.

Looking around 5%. Not a bad little increase just for combining the parts together, and that’s without developers taking specific advantage of it. Could be much higher if a game is developed with it in mind.
