So happy with this card I now have the card running @ 660 core and 1700mhz mem, this card just keeps pushing, when I ran the auto tune it set the core @ 680 and the mem @ 890 *2, 1780 so I pulled it back a bit just to be safe, just cant wait for my second one to run SLI.
My question is, when I set up the SLI with 2 ocuk 7900gs will it double the core power and mem so instead of one card running @ 500mhz will the 2 cards run @ 1000mhz also does the other 20 pipelines increase the overal to 40 pipelines.

MB DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D (Socket 939)

I'm still not quite sure of the performance gain I will get with 2 ocuk7900gs in SLI mode, can you help sheed some light on this for me.
Thanks

Rule #6.75

when posting in hardware threads remember not post your hardware specs, the fine detail of the problem and to overlook seriously ****ing obvious solutions such as plug power cable in, dont expect your system to boot without a powersupply.
We are, after all mindreaders.

Nope, it doesn't work like that at all. But dear me, that looks like great performance from a 7900gs. I bet that'll give anything up to a 7900gto or even gtx a run for it's money

As for the mechanics of running 2 in SLi, in laymans terms, one card will cover one half of the screen while the other will render the other half. It's called Split screen rendering. They will both run at the same speed but they will only have half the pixels to draw, so theoretically, anywhere up to twice the speed over one card is possible. There is a second method of rendering too, whereby one card renders one frame, and the other card renders the next. So if you were getting 35fps with one card, you could, in theory, get 70fps by using 2, as the second card would fill in the gaps of the first. This ia called Alternative Frame rendering.

In both cases though the actual boost in performance will range between 0-70% depending on the game, because some games are designed for using SLi and some aren't. Same goes for crossfire.

I am getting 3dmark 03 scores in the >21,000 >22,000 core @680 mem @ 1780
and its still not giving any problems. I don't understand why people are not snapping these cards up at this price, I can't see what answer ATI have to compaire with these's speeds but mostly the price to get an ATI card capable of these score's will cost a lot more than £115.

yer, The 1800XT is a fast card but you are still only getting 16 pipelines the 7900gs gives 20 then theres a gpu @625 I dont know what they are like for overclocking but mine is @ 680 the mem on the 1800XT is 1500 again not know of its clocking pro but i'm @ 1780 and the cheapest is £140 then £205 thats all most anought to buy 2 9700gs and run SLI. Its just I still dont see why people are not getting them will they can they are such a good card and all the reiews I have read about the de-badged gainwood's have been impressive so for £115 I recon its got to be the best card for the money in that rang it holds its own against a GeForce 7950 GT. I guess I'm just happy with my new card.. after haveing a XFX6600GT agp.

rivatuner lets you push it a little to much, I dont confese to running it at all times my sttings are 650 and 1600 but it did get there and run @ that speed for most of the day but I intend to take it down 600 and 1500 as I have had my fun and dont won't to kill it as I am about to order 1 more so I can run then in SLI and COD2 has an sli mode it is one of my favouret games so I am looking forward to seeing how much improvement the will be.
But my point is they are a good card and give bunch for pounds and if you have a £100 buget then would you settle for a diffrent card or get the extra £15 and buy a ocuk7900gs
