you could just turn it 90 degrees and then post it in entries (so its 800 *600) - you'll lose points for making me turn my head sideways, but at least you would have submitted something...

If you don't want to enter it then link it here rather than in the comp though.

I'm not wanting to create an 'in' list for fear of putting people off putting an entry in at the last minute.

It's good to see lots of new entries since I last checked - though hopefully lots of people are also keeping hold of theirs until the last minute like I did. They're all very different and I can see it'll take a while to judge it - don't expect a 'winrar' thread before 9 tommorow!

Hey, sorry for the late appearance - should have the results for the competition worked out in the next hour though.

EDIT: Results anouncement imminent.

Thanks to everyone who entered. I'm happy to give feedback to anyone who wants it once the results have been announced.

Not so sure why my architecture theme or some of the other themes, like gord's RE:birth theme scored so low in comparison to the phoenix theme...which seems to me the most obvious thing to go for?
I agree that the phoenix theme was the most obvious to do, but at the same time it's obvious because it fits the brief so well. It didn't get full marks for theme though because it was such an obvious solution to the brief.

I really liked gord's re:birth theme, but felt he could have taken it much further. IIRC he posted that it came to him just as he was finishing up and he added it on - which IMHO you can tell. If he had gone for the full e-mail idea that he said he would have done if he had more time then that would have earned him far more points - it was a good idea, but one that wasn't explored enough to get top marks.

Nimzicki, yours too was a good idea, but I don't think it was pushed as far as it could have been. If it hadn't been for the explanation and the word rebirth I would have had to think about your entry for a while before I understood the connection. It was urban and gritty, but the rebirth side of things wasn't too obvious. IMHO it needed something more to make it exceptional - maybe if it was flipped with the skyscraper on the right, the rest of the buildings on the left, and the other buildings looked slightly more haggard whilst the 'newness' of the skscraper was pushed (perhaps a block colour behind it or something).

For me, when it comes to marking for theme, I should be able to be shown the picture, without knowing what the theme is, and say 'well that entry's all about X' - and it should scream X out to me.

Hope that was helpful, but remember, it's very much all IMHO and I probably wont be judging next round anyway.

I think at least one fixed judge would be useful incase anyone goes AWOL.

At the moment. I think, go ahead creating the next round like I have his one - without me as a judge. I'll come back on board next round if need be.

OK I'm going to support mrdbristol's idea in the interest of getting the next round up and running ASAP.

Chaos, feel free to create the next thread with the new rules incorporated, if you need any help then e-mail addy's in trust.

Nimzicki you fine to judge?
