Well, I'm happy I'll finally get the chance to try VR!

But thanks to work with stupid deadlines, I'll have very limited time to try it out today/this week.

So wondering what the best things to try out are that will be quick to download/configure, etc.

I want to pick wisely cause if I only have time to try one thing I want it to be good, being my first VR experience.

Edit:
Oculus rift by the way

Cool, thanks!

I'm really dying to try dirt rally and elite dangerous, but won't have time to set those up tonight probably.

Hope the Dino thing runs nicely - could be fun for the other half.

If you've not already get the Oculus software downloaded and installed.

Remember as well that games bought on Steam can be played with the Rift (like Elite) so get them downloaded as well.

Don't have it installed yet, so that link handy.

As for elite... I have it installed, but it's been so long since I fired it up that I probably won't even be able to remember how to undock my ship :D

Dirt Rally needs no setup. Just launch the game and off you go. Might need to reset your view (press xbox home on gamepad to get the menu up) but other than that it's get in and drive.

I've only had my Rift for just over a week (absolutely love it!) and I thought I was doing ok as far as VR sickness goes, no real problems at all. That was until I tried Dirt Rally, boy that was a wake up call! Could only take about 5 minutes before I had to stop as it's rather an intense ride. It was really immersive though so will definitely persevere with it, build it up slowly.

Two demos I recommend trying is Mythos of the world Axis and Showdown, both which you can find under the Concepts section in Oculus Home.

They're both quite old now (Well Mythos is I think) and both quite short but I loved Mythos, one of my favourite experiences so far!

Well, I'll be surprised if I have any time at all for this tonight now.

Dumb ##### at work can't decide what they want or when they want it, meaning I can't focus on any one thing, meaning it all goes to ####.

Did manage to find time to install and run dream deck.

Nice. Especially loved the dinosaur walking over.

Resolution appears a little lower than I was expecting, but I didn't mind interlaced 3d, so won't complain too much.

Looking forward to trying an actual game, but I can already see potential and a great many hours fun ahead. Providing I don't get motion sick.

Showdown is a cool short demo for you to try. VR Casino is fun for a bit of relaxing poker.

Also, I suggest downloading affected (you have to dig out the beta online but it's free) as it is hilarious getting people you know to see how far they can go before they hit the "nope" wall. I don't go in for horror games normally, but in VR it is pretty insane.

I would definitely start off with elite in terms of game games, because it'll introduce you to movement fairly gently, unlike driving games which at first are pretty vomit inducing until you build up a resistance to motion sickness.
