Oculus Touch priced @ £189.99

Puts the Rift / Touch combo in line with the HTC Vive then.

I was dreading it being over £200 so fairly happy with that price.

While all evidence so far suggests they should come with a second camera I sure hope they don't pull a fast one and remove it from the bundle last minute.

Same here. I was half expecting £200, and with the pound recently wouldn't have been surprised at £250, so I can live with this I guess.

There's always been a second camera being shipped with it - to remove it would hand a massive win to HTC, and also make it totally overpriced.

I've not set up my Rift again since I moved house a month ago. Starting to wonder whether I want to just move it on.
Then I see the price of the touch controllers and I think I now want to keep it.

I guess that's in the ballpark for what I was expecting (or at least, if the second cam is included... if not then that's too much!)

Funny that Game is doing pre-orders already but no sign of anything from oculus itself for all the guys that registered their interest when buying the rift.

Doesn't say anything about dates though does it so they've covered themselves, could be next autumn and that advert would be valid!

Preordered mine from rainforest (same price as above) release date 23 November...few more hours until actual price and release date are confirmed at OC3.

yip Just got the email this morning.. Mass dispatch due from the 6th December... could be anearly xmas present.. Also saw the youtube video of the next gen headset.. wireless santa cruz wonder how far that is off.

read you get one sensor with the touch controllers but if you want more scale you need to purchase an extra sensor for £50

Oculus have routinely focused on trying to deliver the best solution for everything they create.

They've done it with the screen tech.
They delivered on the audio.
They've innovated with software solutions (like ATW and ASW)
And they're trying to do the same with hand controllers.

Three cameras are NOT required for room scale. Two will suffice in the same setup as the Vive, but three is what they're recommending to really make it as solid as possible. Even 4 cameras is an option should your room require it.

Also, please don't take this post as some Oculus fanboy. I own both headsets, work with VR on a daily basis and use my HTC Vive on a much more regular basis than my Rift. Doesn't change the fact that you don't NEED a 3rd camera.

P.S. As a side note it's good to hear from Nate that the 3rd camera might be coming with a USB extension included (if you choose to buy one). Personally I plan on mounting my two cameras directly under my Vive lighthouses but I get the impression that the camera that comes with Touch won't have the extension included.
