OCZ 1000W just blew

My PSU has given up. Bang. Spark. Smell. Electric tripped.

I tried switching it on a few times. No good. I hope the rest of my components are ok, especially my SSDs. Ordered a 730w thermal take psu tp tie me over for now.

Had a corsair one do the same loud bang , smoke scared the crap out of me :eek:

, rest of rig was okay tho if you have a decent brand fingers crossed should be okay

Hopefully the rest of your components are okay, when I was young and stupid I purchased a cheapo PSU from Maplins and that blew within 2 months. Luckily nothing was damaged but the sound and smell after was unpleasant.

Great news! I'm up and running again and everything works!!!

The Thermaltake PSU was out of stock (not from OcUK), so I jumped onto OcUK and ordered a Super Flower* 650W Platinum PSU. I figure that will be enough Watts since I'm planning on staying with a single GPU, and an Nvidia one at that.

Good to hear you're back up and running again without any damage. The Superflower units/Superflower-built units are very good. For single GPU, you're quite right not to go higher than 650W

Had my SuperFlower PSU for a while now and got to say the best PSU I've had in a long time!
