OCZ 1010w gameXstream, Noisey?

So i can turn my gfx card fan up and down, the cpu cooler makes a noticeable noise when spining fast and i can adjust the speed of my case fans. Would the next noisey thing be the power supply? As i reach a limit where i cannot adjust the sound anylower, so pressuming its the psu. What would be a very noticeable different power supply in terms of sound?

Have you put your ear next to you psu? Make sure no other fans are spinning and the room is quiet. try putting a pipe or straw next to it and listening the other end.

What hard drives do you have? Make sure there isnt a drive in your cd rom.

doubt its the hdds as it sounds more like a fan, and i can turn all my case fans off, turn the gfx card down to like 20% and like i said the cpu makes a distinctive whirring noise when spinning! Are you hinting at ocz psu's arn't too noisy?

Hdds i have are a 320 and 750 samsung f1 and some other 320

Well I had a 600w one and I didn't notice it to be noisy.

I had a Corsair 520w and that was silent, now I have a Be Quiet 850w and its also silent.

Of course if you do buy one to change and its just as noisy you can return it under DSR.

hmm was looking at the beQuiet or tagan ones, is your beQuiet quiter than the ocz you had?
