My wife has bought me these for my birthday

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8000 Dual Channel Titanium Alpha XTC Series DDR2

bloody expensive but hey I buy her stuff all the time

I was building the system around a E6600 conroe not sure on the board yet

with this ram and cpu what speed could the conroe hit air cooling

still looking for now the best board need to do some reading on what board is the best

You'd be looking at 3.5+ with top end air cooling and a good board :)
 
Minstadave wondering if you can help advise as you now your stuff

I've got £360 to spend on ram what would you go for is there anything better then this ocz buying a E6600 conroe and going to overclock the hell out of it.

any help would be cool

If I was in your position I'd save a whole wodge of money and get the G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400, it will clock over 1000Mhz and is only £182. This will be more than capable of maxing your Conroe out.
