Plugged it in, got detected but there is no illumination aside from the caps lock. num lock and scroll lock. Pressing the key to change colour does nothing at all. Am I missing something?

EDIT: Solved. Might help if I read the manual! The wheel at the bottom of the keyboard that I assumed was volume control is actually brightness control.

The keys are very laptop like and the keyboard itself is a decent size, it's not much bigger than a stock Dell one really. What's niggling me is that the keyboard is a US layout so a fair few of the printed symbols do not correspond with the UK layout. If you touch type then it won't be an issue aside from the / only existing on the number pad, not the main keyboard. It's a fairly quiet keyboard and feels well made.

I've only received this keyboard this morning so I've not been able to see the full extent of the illumination but the fact that I can see it easily in the day is a good sign.

The manual that comes with the keyboard indicates multimedia keys that don't actually exist on the keyboard so I guess the keyboard has been revised at some point and the manual not updated.

As mentioned in my other post the brightness wheel is an oddity, it's relatively huge which is why I assumed it would be a volume knob. I haven't a clue why it's so big but saying that it's fairly discrete as it sits flush and over by the caps lock etc lights.

Here's a pic with a dell keyboard for comparison.

Re the layout the best solution for me has been to change to the US keyboard layout and if I want a £ which to be honest is rare then pressing ALT + 156 (typed on numpad) gives me one. At least this way I'm not looking wondering where the heck # or @ etc have gone.

I hate the US layout. We had a US laptop at work the other day and i just couldnt get used to it :(

Think it looks quite nice other than that though

At least it's still the QWERTY one and not the other type, now that I couldn't get used to.
