OCZ Memory Beeping!

Hello

I just got my hands on 4GB pc2-6400 memory (OCZ2G8004GK) but my computer beeps when this is installed. As far as I can see my motherboard should be compatable. I currently have Crucial Ballistix pc2-6400 installed and it works fine. Am I missing something? My motherboard is GA-M57SLI-S4.

Have you tested with individual memory modules.

yea i have, same result - long beeps every 3 or 4 seconds

Is your system overclocked at all, also try a CMOS reset.

Hmm, looking at the specs the board, it can take the ram speed.

Only other option is testing the memory in another system, but that is not always possible.

Edit: I assume you have tried different slots as well

Yes i've tried different slots, using 1 stick/2 sticks all to no avail

im going to a mates tomorrow to test it on his rig. perhaps my motherboard doesnt support this specific type of pc2-6400, i dno
