Just getting round to building my pc with 2 5850's and they require 2 x 6pin cables EACH...

The ocz power supply has 2 pci-e modular sockets and 2 cables with only one 6pin connector on each. Is there a solution without using the mole converters that came with the gfx cards?

Just use the molex adapters, not like it'll cause any problems. Another option is to find more 6 pin cables and plug them into any spare modular sockets on the back of the PSU.

Use the molex supplied with the cards, you should be alright as long as your supply is >600W? im powering crossfired 5850's and a amd quad system of a corsair 650w with molex's for one of the cards ;)

Silly of OCZ for providing a 750W with insufficient cables. I bet it's got dozens of Molex and SATA though.

OCZ don't sell a 750W ModXStream. If it is the 700w one, then that doesn't surprise me considering it's only got ~550 watts on it's 12V rail(s).

Yes I think you will need a new power supply, as I think the OCZ ModXstream 700W only has 4 standard peripheral (Molex) connectors and you'd have to use all of those to provide the extra PCI-E cables for your second graphics card. If I was you I'd get the Antec Truepower New TPN-650, but from somewhere where it only costs ~£70. Apparently the XFX 650W XXX Edition is only 10 days away from being available on OCUK, and that is a good power supply worthy of your money as well and has 4 PCI-E connectors as well. If you don't want it to be modular you could get the XFX Pro 650W Core Edition.

I assumed the ModXStream were FSP everest PSUs rebranded but it seems OCZ used an inferior OEM for at least the 700w unit and somewhat explains the lack of cables which are supplied with the FSP Everest.

I do wish rebranders like OCZ, Corsair, Zalman etc would declare which OEM they use across their ranges as it's pretty important to us enthusiasts.

i got the 600 watt ocz for my sons computer and it has lasted 5 weeks in it....it took out the circuit breaker on its way to psu heaven today....im buying an enermax galaxy 850w from the MM to replace it and will never buy anything but enermax again.....

OCZ are known to be inferior to other brands, so I wouldn't let this experience put you off buying an antec, corsair or XFX all of which are much better quality than the OCZ modextreme.
