I have a rev1 P965-DS3 board with 4gb of OCZ PC2-8500 ram.

I also have a [email protected] running good temps but I can only get it booting with the ram multiplier at 2.5 . This makes the ram run at 940mhz. When I try to put the multiplier at 2.66 the ram should run at 1050mhz or there abouts. This should be well in the memorys limit right?

I've upped the DDR2 voltage to +0.4 as well. Any ideas?

Tried +0.45?

Can see no reason why it wouldn't boot on the 2.66 memory multi. Have you tried setting everything back to stock (except the memory voltage) and setting the memory multi to x4.0?

completely depends on

(1) divider

(2) fsb

for instance mine will do with a Quad 1150 MHz on a x9 multiplier and way less on a x8 multiplier this is due to the interactions between the fsb and the memory

I did a test a while back with some other memory and with my CPU at x9, and memory at 800 MHz vs x8 with memory at 800 MHz, the memory needed quite a bit more VDimm to be stable on the x8.

benchmark tests in Sisoft for the memory showed it benched quite a bit higher on the x8 too - so there is definately a relationship between fsb and memory speed even for the same given memory speed

re dividers, don't recognise the ones you state, but on my P5B Deluxe - 1:1 and 2:3 are fine at high memory frequencies, but 4:5 is a real no go anything above 900
