Well after asking axactly same question but under different thread without a answer i decided to post it here in memmory section!

Well i am overclocking my C2D E6600, and have it ATM only @ 2.7ghz but only couse i dont like my AC7 Pro 2500RPM noise and i run it atm @ 800rpm optimall speed!
What about FSB: DRAM 1:1 , if i follow these dividers which as i heard are recommended to run sistem ,i can get it only up 333:666 that means only 3Ghz, becouse if i go higher with my procesor up to 3.4,3.6 Ghz i cant get 1:1
equal dividers,if i try to change my RAM freq. higher sistem wont boot!

My Ram Model is OCZ Pc5400 dual channel gold GX XTC series EL-DDR2(OCZ26672048ELGEGXT-K)

So the questions are:
1) Is it becouse i run everything @ stock voltage?
btw, when i tryed my ram @ 2.1 V with 3ghz c2d run orthus i crushed every 30 seconds, not couse of temps not couse of too hight overclock, becouse when i tryed same test @ stock volts everything worked fine!
2)Or is that the max frequency i can get out of my ram?Or shall i try different timmings? atm i got 4-4-4-12 @ stock volt
3)Can i make damage to my sistem if later i decide run my sistem @ 3.4 when i get less noisy Fan ,with not equal FSB;DRAm!

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated ,or maybe someone has same Ram, and could share hes results with us!

cheers: vairo

Strange, 333Mhz 1:1 is DDR2 667Mhz..... or stock speed for PC-5300. You shure that is right?

1) your modules are rated for up to 2.2V, so they shouldnt have probs at 2.1V unless they ARE overheating
2) have you run Memtest to check the ram is running ok? I find it picks up errors better than Orthos. It is a specific memory testing tool, not a multi-purpose one.
3) If you want to keep overclocking your CPU, try loosening the timings a little bit, that should give you more head room

If you are getting Memtest errors at stock timings, speeds, and volts, then I'm afraid it's RMA time!

first memtest at stock settings (stock CPU, mem set to 667mhz by divider, stock volts, 4-4-4-12) to see if the mem is busted. At stock you should be able to run memtest for long stretches with no errors at all.

If its ok, then 5-5-5-15 is about the loosest timings that i think you should use, so you have a little headroom to overclock, maybe to 800Mhz+ if you are lucky, not sure what the OCs are like with those dimms.

If you get errors at stock, RMA, you have busted ram!

didnt had time last few days ,to run memtest @ stock ,i will try it in next few days ,but in mean time if there is anyone with same RAM ,plz let me know how far did u push your Ram ! :(

sorry done it ,just to get it back on first page ! :/

Sorry - misread first post. I'll check specs and come back to you.

Could you explain what your system settings are and I'll download the P5W manual and have a quick read through...

Right - your RAM may well not run any faster than it's rated speed at 4-4-4-12 so you have a choice. Slacken the timings or run a divider. Personally, I would run a 1:1 divider as MHz is more important than timings. Put all the timings on AUTO and see how far it will clock.

yeah i tryed it ,and max what i could get stable was 3.2 ,i guess its goood enought, and i kept all voltage on auto! My ram isnt good enought i think, and it wont work (IT will but it will fail eather on booting,or on orthus test in first few seconds) if i will set higher voltage to it,which is wierd realy, since its recommended voltage is 2.1 ;/ , anyways i am quit happy atm, thanks for help!
