Ok so i stick this in my ASUS M4A784TB-V Evo MOBO and leave everythign in auto for the ram anyway and i boot up windows and load up CPU-Z and it says the memory is running at 9-9-9-20 @ 1.5V which is completly wrong as the ram should be running at 7-7-7-20 @ 1.8V.

I did a Super Pi 1M test on both arrays of timmings as i manually set 7-7-7-20 in the bios after and it appears that my system completes it 2 seconds slower when it has the tighter timings which doesnt seem right to me ...

does anyone know what i can do or what im doing wrong ...

Current system specs ...

NB 2400 Mhz
HT 2400Mhz

Thanks for any help

When I didn't have my memory set at the correct timings my PC never behaved itself, and I kept getting display driver crashes.

You need to set the timings and frequency manually in the bios. The settings are in the 'jumper free configuration' section down at the bottom. Change to manual and then set the timings.

BSOD

well with the ram set in the bios iv had this problem befor ... the system becomes unresponsive and BSODs however with the bios settings on auto the system seems perfectly fine ... could this actually be defected ram or my mobo not liking my ram or what ... altho it shouldnt be compatibility as the ram is on the compatibility list from asus for this motherboard so there should be no problems what so ever yet there is when the ram is set up "properly" any ideas would be much much appreciated ...

Thanks
