How to get it running at proper speeds?

Well it's currently on the 2:3 divider. Might be called x3 multiplier in your motherboard. It would need to be set to either 1:2 or x4 to get it running at 1066mhz (CPU-Z will show 533Mhz on its Memory tab when it's set right).

It'll also need to be set to 2.3v or 2.4v to get it running stable at 1066Mhz.

After reading up more on my mobo/memory combo I find that the're others who have the exact same problem. They cant get the memory to run at 1066mhz with any settings/voltage. The only way it will run is at all settings on auto which gives 400hmhz....looks like this super speed 8500 ocz was the most expensive 400Mhz on the market...Not a happy customer.

thats pants considering its not the cheapest memory, not only that though they are supposed to automatically set everything up for you

The board needs to support "SLI" ready RAM, not many do.

Your motherboard has and unlinked memory setting Afaik.

Find the unlinked setting and set your memory manually.

If you use unlinked mode you will also have to set the cpu frequency manually also.

Sorry triple post my browser wasn't backing out of the post reply interface when I clicked save changes so I assumed it hadn't posted so I kept clicking  its still happening

It should still run at the quoted specs - the SLI ready etc. is only relevant to the EPP data.

You'll still need to manually set them, only on a compatible board will "SLI Ready" RAM set itself to the advertised timings/clock rate.

I tried single stick in all 4 slots-still the same with any setting i use, only runs at 800Mhz with settings on auto. So will overclockers give me a refund as it wont do what it says on the tin? OCZ havent helped as yet.

what exactly is the advantage of running the memory at 1066mhz rather then 800mhz? I am guessing its to get better overclocks ?

Sorry for the little thread hijack :o Its just i am building my new
Conroe Quad XE system soon, and ill be overclocking so would it be better to get this OCZ 1066mhz ram over the Corsair Dominator 6400C4?

Thanks
