I bought some OCZ 8500 platinum series, having some trouble running it 1066. I can run it at 1066 with my PCU at 266x9, but when itry either 333x9 or 400x8 prime dont work.
No i looked in CPUZ under the SPD tab and its how my memory as being max bandwidth or pc2 6400 (400mhz).

Have i got some memory with the wrong sticker?

My Corsair Dominators show up as PC 6400 in CPU-Z I think PC 8500 are overclocked 6400 - hopefully someone can confirm my thoughts.

When your running at 333 x 9 or 400 x 8 what speed is your memory at.

I have a DFi board so i normally set 400/1066.

This makes my mem run at 533 in CPUZ.

Currently im trying a lower speed, setting the Ram for 1000, CPUZ shows 499.9. Again PRIMe still fails.
What even more strange is that OCCT will run without errors, but prime wont.
Its strange because if i run at 266x9 i can clock the memory to 1066.
I can run any FSB i want if i set the ram at 800.

I had heard that the top DD2 speed is actually 6400 and that 8500 were sticks that were rated to higher speeds.

Have you got the q6600 cpu, you might need little extra voltage.
When I had my Q6600 max I could go was 3.3ghz anything over would fail prime.
Tested with 6400 & 8500 speed memory.

Yeah I got a q6600 Currently Clocked at 400x8 so 3.2ghz. It does the same if i run at 333x9. Im running just under 1.4volts at idel abou 1.344 at load.
What would you suggest?

I just passed stable on a 1 hour mix test in OCCT.
