I have a 700W OCZ power supply, and consider the fan to be far too noisy. It does not seem to change speed either (running fast and loud!). The PSU cannot be returned to the seller, as it was built for me via insurance company who subbied it out, who then subbied it out again!!!

Has anybody checked, or changed the thermister for the fan speed control ?
Anybody changed the fan (and what too)?
Not opened it up yet.
It is by far the noisiest part of the pc now, and is fitted at the bottom of my CoolerMaster case, drawing air in from under the pc, and blowing it out the back, so is 'fresh air'.
thanks
Andy

Not a good idea to open up a PSU and replace the fan if your not sure what to do.

Your probably better off buying a new PSU and selling off the OCZ, chances are you don't need a 700w PSU.

Know the do's, and defo the DONT DO'S of electricity and components (engineering spark by trade). For what it would cost in buying a new PSU, and what I would get for my 'old' OCZ supply, I though I might as well have a look into it. Would like more info before I start though.
