OCZ Unveils First “Fatal1ty” Memory Modules

then you can have the full set of 'fatality' components to be the best gamer in the world, i guess :)

branding/marketing that seems to catch some people

The new modules are designed to enable personal computers of gamers who are seeking for superior performance, but would not like to sacrifice stability of their systems for a couple of additional frames per second. Therefore, OCZ decided not to sell ultra-overclocked memory modules under Fatal1ty brand.

So you really are paying extra for the name, for nothing special at all compared to the other brands.

have you ever been getting a superior product buying fatal1ty over other products though, suppose next stop is him plastering his name over an nvidia card

Only fatal1ty product I have bought was the Sound Blaster X-Fi fatal1ty FPS, didnt buy it because of the fatal1ty logo but because it had the front panel & was the topend soundcard at the time.

I personally think fatal1ty is just a total marketing gimmick, woudnt be so bad if all the product range was topend at the date of release but it isnt.

Creative, Abit, XFX & now OCZ jumping on the marketing gimmick bandwagon lol.

I read an article/preview on these a while back... the idea is that they are mainstream performance and standard price. So the branding is only to catch the eye amongst many similar products.

You can't knock the bloke made a mint from his name in gaming well done i say, if peeps buy it expecting something different then they barmy.

HI there

Does anybody want us to get these in?

At the moment were telling OCZ no as we think the specification is basically rather dull, poor timings.....

nah, i doubt there's the demand for them, and no members here would recommend them.

besides i'm guessing there's a small premium on the price..?

From a graphic designer's standpoint I rather like the Fatal1ty branding (even if it does look rather like the SS) but the products rarely offer any tangible advantage over others. If someone like Asus made all their top-end products Fatal1ty then maybe the brand would have more weight. As it is, it seems rather piecemeal.
