Hey chaps,

Right for some reason,With my 2x OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB SSDs in Raid 0 they dont perform very well together and i dont know why!

When i just use one of the SSDs on their own,The read/write speed are 240+ and access time is 0.1ms which is all good.
But as you can see from the shot above,In raid 0 its really slow and access time has gone down.

My motherboard is Gigabyte P55-US3L

Installed the latest Raid drivers,Chiset drivers etc....set to Raid/ACHI in BIOS.

Appreciate the help! :)

What firmware do the drives have? You updated them both to the latest right?

Just to confirm, my single Vertex2E 60Gb gets 200mb/s

Hi mate,

Latest firmware on both drives,i got around 240+ ish mb/s on mine when not in raid.
just confused to why they perform like crap when paired together. :/
i know it ha to be something with my motherboard, but what i dont know. :/

Right just gave Crystaldiskmark a try,But its not detecting any drives so thats useless.
Tried ATTO benchmark and thats detecting the raid and this is what the results are.

The Gigabyte GA-P55-US3L does not support RAID on the Intel controller (ICH10, blue coloured SATA ports), so I would reckon that you have set these up in RAID on the Gigabyte SATA (jmicron, white coloured SATA ports) controller which is where your problem lies, as it is just basically rubbish...

I would take them out of RAID and just run them as single SSD's on the Intel cont.

Ah,just my luck!,Looks like il just install Windows to one of them and my main games BF3 and GTA IV onto the other, rest of my crap can go on a standard 7200rpm drive.

Thanks anyway chaps appreciate the help.

If that's the case then i would advise buying a PCI-E SATA RAID controller. May as well get a SATA 6Gb/s one to future proof.
