OCZ Vortex 4 Firmware

I received my OCZ Vortex 4, it has firmware v 1.3. There is an update to 1.5, I used the tool to update the firmware. It says to reboot, but it still shows as 1.3.

Anyone else updated the firmware.

i think it has to be a non os drive,for example boot in windows from another hdd,then update firmware and boot up from ssd ect

I have it as a slave drive. Im booting from another SSD (Corsair).

tbh idk why its not updating it,where are you looking for firmware version? ive never had to update mine so idk much about it,maybe someone else can add further

I downloaded the tool box from OCZ, and that downloads the firmware (but i cant ever see it).

look in as ssd

or intel rapid storage console

AS SSD, IRSC/ and other disk info all still say firmware 1.3.

Tells me latest is v1.5

Power down and unplug the power cable to the ssd and totally remove it for a few seconds.

Sorry if this is already what you've done... but...

The thing to watch here, as mickyflinn is eluding to. Is when the OCZ FAQ for this flash says "Shutdown and restart the system." It does actually mean "shutdown and hence remove power from the drive" and not just to "reboot the PC". Even doing this, I found that I then had to "restart the PC" again, to get the first flash from 1.3 to 1.4 to take (IE. appear).

PPS. Though I see that you've got it sorted now. Good stuff. There's been quite a few people fall into this trap (see the aforementioned OCZ forum). Their instructions could maybe have been a bit better worded.
